My 04 Mazda3 has 32000 miles on it. I decided to have my oil change this morining at the local oil place where I've been going for about 2 years. While driving home in the evening, I noticed my oil light flicker on and off. I turned down the radio and heard some wierd noise coming from the engine. I pulled over and poped the hood. The oil dipstick showed barely no oil in the engine. I look under the car and notice oil leaking. I immediate call the oil lube shop and inform them of what happend. The service manager and tech drive down to where I parked and start inspecting the vehicle. The technician removes the oil filter and notices the gasket is broken. They replace the filter, gasket and add synthetic oil. The car starts and there are no sensor lights but when tech revs engine to about 2k rpm we here knocking. The manager tells me to drive the vehicle home slowly and to bring it in 1st thing in the morning. He calls me later that evening to see if the noise had stop. The noise has not gone away. I am waiting for the manager to call me back after he explains situation to his boss.
(protest) Now I'm pissed. Engine knocks when in park at 2k rpm. Sounds like an old hyndai excel. I am not happy about possible repair or replaced engine if thats what is needed.
What reasonable action/demands should I make?
Lawsuit to have vehicle replace as I won't feel the same in car with repair?
If they do offer to repair or fix, will this void warranty if not performed by dealer?
