I lost to my friends Ford Focus SVT turbo.
We were both on the highway and at 128 MPH he blew my ass nasty. I was at 8 pounds and he was at 10. That sucks big time. Oh well can't win them all.

P.S. I also lost to a 2003 Ford Lighting

Don't our cars have a cut at 130? I read it somewhere. I haven't had the opportunity to test that though .

No that is bull. Just like there was cut off after 12PSI's. I only got up to 128 and let off cause I already lost. I was told you can go more from a friend of mine that has a black one and he did 133 or 136. He car didn't turn off the only thing was he was running out of RPM's before redline.

Awesome. Those trucks can be fast as hell. One of my old coworkers had one that ran 13's, but he had to load up the bed to get traction. Don't know if the rumor is true, but Dodge is supposed to be putting the HEMI engine from the RAM in the Dakota in the next few years.

As I got further up the road, I notice this set of headlights moving side to side around traffic too, and comming up on my ass. I was like, ok, someone wants to play, so I hit it again as they got up on my ass, and started pulling away. At about 115 I hit the brakes and started slowing down. The vehicle got on my ass, so I hit the blinkers, and moved over to the right lane. It came past me slowly ( I guess checking out the car that just pulled on him). I look over, and it's a black Dodge truck with "5.9 R/T" on it. I was like...(lol) are you for real?

As for the cut off- it does exist but it is not psi based, it is airflow based and cooler, desnser air will bring it on sooner- hotter air will make it come later. Just like pretty much any other turbo car. I can only run about 9-10 psi here in NY, less on the highway before it fuel cuts. Which is why being in FL, you don't notice it like some of us. I was able to run 13-14 in FL but depending on when I hit the throttle in the RPM range and what gear I was in, it would still do it up top (60mph on).

Maybe they were basing the speed limit on RPM.. Will it hit the rev limiter in 5th?

It has only been low 70's lately- cooler air is denser air so the MAF reads more air at the same CFM.. Since it monitors airflow to "guesstimate" the boost levels, air temps will affect it. If it used a MAP sensor for fuel cut, it woul be pretty much the same all the time since that reads actual pressure. I'm sure altitude plays a role there somewhere also...

You are lucky even in FL to get away with that PSI without it fuel cutting at least on the highway on a cooler night!!! I'm sure there is a calibration range for the MAF's when they are made- you must have gotten a good one .

Isn't that worth like 50WHP, and a couple points off the drag coefficient due to the way the stripes scare (skeer) the wind around the truck? I hear from some of my Redneck co-workers that whole Ram campaign is part of the National Sheep Stumpers Association recruitment efforts.

After dusting these guys four cars back, I saw a huge plume of black smoke coming from behind the Civic hatchback. I think he blew something.....oh well, sh!t happens.(blowup) (gun)

I have had a couple of guys in cavs trying to get me to race them at stoplights....I had to smoke one of them! After that, they are just a waste of my gas!

LinuxRacr: Well some of the Cavilers (Z24's) are accually faster than a stock MP3, and they know this. Did any of them have Z24 on the side of their cars? If so, they are the 150 CHP version. A lot of folks don't do their research before harassing someone at a stoplight. In other words, they probably thought you were just a stock MP3, with a body kit, or either they just thought they had a chance. Nice MSP by the way!! (thumb)

That is also a car made by toyota and sold in japan under toyota's name. They can be very fast. s*** veliside makes bodykits for them, do you see one for our cars? lol!

ya you might say that but out here we have street night on thur. at kennadle (1/8 mile) and it was dom. vs imports and the civics moped up. All the ones round here all have drag 3 kits and built motors now. they were in the 8's and 7's now can you say that? um humm. Civics r damn good cars and can make them very fast NA IF you do the right things to them. I loved my Snatchback and would buy another one in a sec.
