I had a full Kenwood stereo system installed in my 2007 Mazda 5 GT. It sounds incredible. I am very impressed with the quality of the product and the installation was flawless. The custom built sub box is truly a work of art. I put the following gear in my 5:

DNX-5120 In-Dash DVD w/ Navigation, Sirius, iPod etc.

2 KFC-XW1000F Subwoofers in custom built box

I will post actual pictures of the setup once I have time.. If anyone has questions about the product or install, post them here!

Same here. I needed a GPS in my 08 GT as well, but just a bit worry where to take my car for install.

Most places they won't even do it cause the GT got so much thing on the steering wheel and bluetooth.

Any extra information will be helpful.

thanks

Im mounting one 10" or 8" in the spare tire well, with a 5 channel amp.

i like that head unit tho. looks sweet

I'm getting sick of trying to find ways to hook up sat and Ipod to my car, so I think im going with a aftermarket dvd based nav unit and go from there.

get the adapter to run the steering mounted controls. and 2 monitors in the back for the kids!

Ok, I took some pictures today. Let me know what you think.

Here is a front shot of the head unit. I had the dash kit sent to me from Japan (it is the exact same one that CorkSport sells)

The box is not bolted down and can be easily removed in minutes, in case I need to haul something. The amp is putting 600w to each sub and they absolutly pound. I am very impressed with the Mazda5 as it does not rattle nearly as much as I expected. The sound quality is phenonemal. The front and rear speakers are being powered by the 4 channel amp and they sound great as well. I have a 2-way alarm/starter system installed (CompuStar 2W9000FM-PRO) as well, which is necessary with so much stereo gear I think. I also am using the SWI-JACK steering wheel control module so that I maintain use of the factory controls. It works pretty well, but not quite as good as factory. Well..hope you guys like it, it was professionaly done at a shop in BC and I am very happy with how it turned out. If there's any questions post them here!

Look great, very professional and clean install.

BTW, perfect location for the amps (bowdown)

thats a awesome install.. I wish i had the funds for something like that! how much did the custom speaker box put you down?

Thanks for the comments everyone! Wish you could hear how it sounds!

nvanvlymen: The custom sub box was close to $500.. I have some pictures from the stages through which it was built..it looks great on the outside, but the bracing and compartments inside the box which were built to the specs of the subs is incredible and difficult to appreciate from the outside.. It took many hours to make and I am extremely pleased with the quality of workmanship that went into it!

Jay-Biz, ld love to see some of those construction pics for the box... i can imagine the real work went into building it. again, looks fantastic.. better then black felt material!

I like it! Nice work!

Are you going to put grilles over the speakers?
