Keeping the Si???

You know what? That just means that there's a better autocross car in your future...why stress yourself out financially by keeping the Si, when you can sell it and relieve yourself from some of that? You can always buy another car once you get the housing stuff all figured out. AND you can run the MS6 at the autocrosses...

Yup, I figure that, in the long run, I'll be better off. By next season, hopefully, I'll be able to afford something faster. Or at least be able to afford more/better parts for something comparable. Plus, in the meantime, I get to have some fun exploring the limits of the Speed6. That's not really possible on public roads.

Now I've got to try to find some light 15x6 wheels. I don't think anyone makes them, and the stockers are 18 lbs each. Oh well, I've probably got until next year before I can talk her into that. Time to start hitting the Honda boards for cheap parts. **shudder**

15"x 6" for the Si or Speed6? I didn't think the calipers on the Speed6 would let you go that small. If it's for the Si, check out the Falken rims, they're less than $100 each.

Oh, no, I wouldn't do 15s on the Speed6. 17 is the smallest you can go to fit over the brakes. Thanks, but I was already looking at the Falkens. They're light and cheap, but they're 15x7, and from what I understand, if I want to stay in a stock class, I have to keep stock wheel dimensions.

you do. I'm sure the tire rack or edgeracing have some cheapie 15x6s. Edge also sells the RT-615s. Tire rack does list weights for performance oriented wheels.

Thanks, but I looked for them. I haven't found them anywhere yet, but I should probably check Rota's site for ALL available sizes, then find a place that sells them if they exist.

I actually checked edge and tire rack. Only could find 15x6.5s @ edge, and only a couple of 15x6s @ Tire rack.

Wow. I now officially want those SSR Type C's @ 8.8 lbs each. Unfortunately, I'd probably have a tough time talking the GF into $300 each.

Dude, don't even get me started. There is a certain point where weight and cost meet, and from there cost skyrockets and wight only comes down so much... I wanted those for the miata, but instead I found my wheels @ 13.5 lbs each with tires already mounted (abt 17lbs each for the record...) for $400 for the set...

Then I won't talk about the Volk TE37s that come in 15x6. Doesn't really matter. This is most likely just going to go on the wish list for next year. I think this year might see new brake pads and some shocks. There's a guy on eBay with KYB AGX shocks for my car for $250 shipped.

Anyone know if I need a GA driver's license to race here, or if my WI one will do? I suppose I could just get off my lazy ass and get a license anyway, but that'd take motivation.

BTW, didn't get the RT215s. Probably best to just tear up the all-seasons until I figure out WTH I'm doing anyway.

you will be fine with your license, and you should start on street tires anyways to help your learning curve.

I was trying to trade for them, since he wants some Ziex 512s, and that's what is on the Civic right now, but he was looking for 205/50-15s, and I've got 195/55-15s.

Can't spend any money on it right now. That would get me in trouble. I'm getting new OEM rotors and probably some Hawk pads because my GF thinks I should have good brakes if I'm going to race, but other than that, I don't think I'm spending a dime for a while.

Too bad, I really want those KYB AGXs. It's only $250... (dunno)
