KartBoy shifter bushings question!!!

ok, i searched, but could not find the answer to my question.
basically i recently ordered the Kartboy, short shifter & bushings combo. the short shifter installed just fine, (except i get a really anoying rattle/vibration off throttle in 3rd, i think it's touching the heat shield?) but i tried to install the bushings, (yellow polly things) and they don't fit! they seam too big for the opening at the end of the shifter. the hold at the end of the shifter is about the diameter of a Dime & the new ones from kartboy seam to be bigger than a quarter! question! am i, installign them in the right place??? do they go in the base of the short shifter, or do they install some where else? i called Kartboy but as of yet have not had any response. i also read the install instructions on their site, but again, am unsure as to the exact location.

cheers in advance,

wrong place. If you look a the shift linkage under the car, you will see 2 rods going from the shifter area to the trans. One of those rods has bushings that are the same size. They go there.

NO, they do not go in the end of the shifter....and NO they don't go under the shifter....they go at the other end of the rod that is attached to the tranny....there are two....one that is attached to the shifter itself...and a second one....get to the end of it and you will see where the bushings go. NOW.....did you take the small bushings out of the stock shifter and put them in the end of the kartboy shifter where the bolt goes through? or were there bushings already in there? I have the B&M and it reuses the stock ones that go in that location.....

the rattle you mention.....sounds like you are hitting the heat shield....bend it a little more.

everything ok now :) good :)

we just pull the heatshield down a little bit. no need to go hacking up the car just yet... we'll leave that for our USTCC car.

happy shifting
