Kain's PictAr Thread

The battery cover is putting down 12v to the terminals. Dyno proven.

The tires are the stock 215/45-18 Potenzas. There is NO lip protection, but the tires have too much tread left to not use. My next rubber will be at least 225.

For those that are wondering, the sensors swapped right in with nary a dash warning light so far. No recalibrating needed.

lol why not 235? =P but i hear you on 215 on 8in xD if i hit a curb in the next year or so its over with

So that's what the new seats look like! Wow! I'm def. diggin that! =)

Nice shots by the way! Looks great!

Love that Fuse box cover! Where'd you get it?

Have you thought about throwing some film tint on your headlights/fogs- tails maybe?

Nice shots there. The engine bay looks great, aggressive yet still classy :P. I for one applaud your red turbo coloring, I like small details like that.

Do you have any plans on lowering it? I have RX-8 wheels also and recently install the Eibach pro-kit which makes them fit nicely on the car. Also, how many tickets have you gotten for tint?! I live in the NoVa area too and I'd be scared to get tint like that with VA's horrible motor laws.

^^ He doesn't plan on lowering anytime soon because of the need for ground clearance. =)

Thanks. I got the fuse box cover from eBay here. However, it seems the price must have been recently upped. I got mine shipped for what they're asking for now without shipping. Anyway, you can get the Mazdaspeed cutout in different colors.

I have no plans for tinting lights. It's like eyelids, to me it seems counterproductive to decrease the light's output. But it can look nice when done right.

Yeah, I'm not lowering it. My car has to be a comfortable family hauler that has some kick when I need it. I went through that phase with previous cars, race-prepping cars that mostly saw street use.

Glad you like the details. I just used a fine-tipped brush, True Red touch-up paint, and a steady hand. Since I'm pretty much done with big performance mods (power, handling, wheels), anything I do now will be smaller things to put my stamp on it. Maybe a new BPV, shift knob, e-brake boot, that kinda s***.

That's cool, I understand that. I made sure to get the most comfortable springs I could find. The Eibach's are nice because they are progressive. So when cruising normally it feels the nearly same as stock. But when you want to be aggressive they respond nicely. I was really paranoid before installing them because the factory setup is so nice and I didn't want to ruin the comfort of it. Luckily they worked out perfectly for what I was looking for.

How many people are going to that BBQ Sunday? I might try making it out there.

Took some pics this morning after I had tires M&B'd on RX-8 wheels. Other mods in sig. Car just turned 4-months-old and 3,100 on the oh-doh.

Hey Kain:

I just installed some RX-8 wheels on my true red MS3, and it looks identical to your car, window tint and all. In fact, if we parked them together we could not tell the diff from the outside. Don't worry though, I live in Cali, so no one will think I ripped your idea off. Great wheels.

Kain,

I like what you did with painting the "turbo" red (on the engine cover).

Speaking of engine cover, has anyone considered painting that the same color as the car? I've seen that on the trailblazer ss forums and it looked hot!

Whew, crisis averted!

There's some dude with a TR MS3 and CorkSport FMIC kit with a red TMIC shroud and hoses. Honestly, I think it's too much. I'm all about red accents, not making my engine bay look like a used tampon.

Wait, you mean the valve cover? If I go the FMIC route, I will definitely be powdercoating the valve cover red. That would look nice.

No I meant the engine cover. But I agree, it may be way too much red. Red always looks sorta weird on plastic versus paint on metal. It has a cheesy look to it. I seen someone paint it white and it came out real nice.

Anyhow, yeah the valve cover would be sweet though for sure!

Did you hand brush the 'turbo' part? Or just tape off and spray paint? What paint did you use?
