i blocked my egr hole off completely, i figured it would be registering a vacuum leak in the intake manifold if it was just left open and my egr wasnt hooked up at all
Hey Simon, do you have a picture of your breather filter on the EGR?
Thanks!

Ah ok, well that works too, but your CEL is going to come on...my way it wont (if your even going to use the stock ECU)well i took the whole egr unit off itself and made a block off plate, but then i used a npt cap to cap off the egr tube bung on the IM.
thanks! bad thing is that i have to wash it and work on it on the road now lol at least until i lift it to get in my drivewayThat sounds amazing (2thumbs)
Glad to see your P5 is back on the road!
easing lol im not gonna go WOT until i get the rest of the exhaust/tune done
1. its LOUD, 2. the car just goes straight to 10 in boost......
easing into boost it goes to 12-11 where it should, but then whenever i floor it, 10's all the way...so the car really doesnt feel fast at all
gotta do some tuning tomorrow
I demand moar video.
Glad it's running again, mate. (2thumbs)
Yea...well i already have an O2 bung, and an O2 sensor, so i might as well lol Ive seen some people with O2 simulators...not sure how they work, but too much extra wire for me to do that, I like as little wire as possible lolI always wondered why you even need a second O2 sensor if you're planning on tricking it anyway (I assume you're going to be using the non-fouler method). It seems to me like the output of the second O2 sensor would be similar to the first one ... so conceivably you could come up with a bit of analog circuitry which would fake the second O2 sensor's voltage levels using the output of the first one. Or if the ECU is really dumb you could trick it by adding a timer IC which would fluctuate the voltage on that input a few times a second, I'm just not sure exactly how the ECU determines that that second O2 sensor is working.
This would save you from welding in a useless bung and save money if you didn't already have a second O2 sensor laying around.
Yea, i know how that is, im trying to get a job right now too...school and work is kinda hard to balance out thoughIt took me all day to read this thread, and I'm glad I did. Very nice build. I want to do this when I can get the money to do it right. Probably won't be to soon though I'm in college and looking for a job. I do want to start collecting parts as soon as I can get my car running strong which means getting rid of the rough idle, CEL, and crappy mount or mounts. That should keep me busy for a while, but great build. I'm hope I can build something like this eventually. Good luck with everything else. -Nick
FDs!!!!! 225/50!!!! lol nah too big. I'm going to step it down to 215/40 also. Probably best size to go with.
Any word on the radio surround?
