none, besides fluid which isnt really a mod lol

i cant afford gears and i never really had the time to pull the trans till now, i might upgrade to a MSP or other LSD and maybe get the GTX gear set, but besides that im just hoping for the best, which would be my trans, not breaking lol

i hope so, ive heard mixed things about the gears shattering and s*** like that, but idk what boost levels they were running so cant really match it with my situation

but, turns out i got screwed a little, was looking through my gasket set and found i dont have head bolts, timing belt, or freeze plugs

which really sucks cuz i kinda need those things, esp. the head bolts
PMed ken so hopefully he can fill me in on why i didnt get them

for real, kinda bummed me out when i realized that i was missing s***
oh well, guess ill wait and see what he says, if he gets back to me

nice I cant wait to see it finished. Reminds me in 2004 when i turboed my 2003 protege with 3000 miles on the odometer. my wife got pissed. I told her you have ur p5 and this is my car. I miss that car, oh well Now i have another p5 and maybe ill turbo this beast. :) good luck!

iridiums are bad for this car. anything other than copper is bad. you can do one step colder, just tune for them. period.
set the gap for .028-.032

work station

all thats left for me to do is take the crank out, already have the bolts loose, just take it out and torque the main caps back down so i can take it to the machine shop and have them do there magic

ok well i just dropped off the block and head at the machine shop
heres a list of the work im having done

Head:
*Take apart
*Wash
*3 Angle Valve Job
*Regrind Valves
*Install New valve seals
*Reassemble head completely with new oil seals

Block:
*Wash
*Bore and hone to .020 over
*Wash again

Total is going to be $409.86, which is a little more then i expected but the 3 angle valve job cost 135 bucks which was a surprise to me lol
he said he should have it done by next weds. so till then ill just be doing the electrical work and cutting the bumper beam and fitting the IC

great to see progress :)
i always wanted to know a ruff estimate of how much machine work would cost

yeah i bought the bad kit at turbokits.com and ended up having to modify and refit everything, and had to buy extra intercooler pipes. For engine management i ended up buy a fm clamp and a couple years later i accuired a msp ecu and used a dsm afc to upload maps. heres my thread http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89112&page=2

that's actually really cheap. most machine shop stuff is closer to 600-900.00

yea i know, but i know this guy and i was expecting like 2-300 bucks at the most
but like i said, a 3 angle valve job was way more then i expected
besides that everything else was under a 100 per which isnt too bad

and he isnt doing the block assembly for me either which would have added a bit to the total

cuz there not made anymore lol i got it whenever they had the last group buy

i bought a Version 1 thunder mani brand new from a guy on here, but then i found out the bolt holes didnt line up at all, so i traded it to Protephile for a brand new version 2 no charge :)
worked out pretty well lol

but if you want one u have to get it used on here or PM protephile, he may have some left
