****...ill do it tomm lol
kinda pisses me off i didnt see that

and i was lookin at the sevice manual like wtf, where is this allen bolt, scrolled down 2 pages and there it is...damit

Ok so i just tried to change the rear pads out and i couldnt get the ****** caliper off of the rotor
there was a lip wore into the rotor and it wouldnt let me get the dam thing off
so anybody know how i would go about getting the caliper off? i was pounding on it for about an hour and a half and it didnt do s***

this makes me lol. cuz i had the same issue till i realized.. oh **** allen screw.

...what...the...****!
i was looking all around for something to loosen and there wasnt anything that i could see
where is it at on the caliper?

There's a 14mm bolt right next to the 14mm bolt for the parking brake bracket (on the backside of the caliper). Remove it and you'll be able to stick an allen key in the hole to turn a small gear (sorry I forget the key size).

I think it's a 5mm allen key. It pulls the piston back into the caliper. Kind of like using a C-clamp on the front piston. However, mine were stripped on both sides so I had to buy new rear calipers. Though I heard if you loosen the bleeder valve WHILE turning the allen key, it takes pressure off the piston and you"ll be able to back it off easier. If they are stripped, of course.

Best of luck, mate!

Oh, I forgot to mention, you're going to want to turn the key counter-clockwise. It might not do anything at first but keep turning while pushing the piston inwards and it'll eventually move.

yea thanks guys, i got it all figured out today, it was actually a 4mm allen key
but here are some pics of the pads, as you can see i needed to change these very badly haha

oh and thanks to SeR_Cyclops for the Boostsciences Boost Controller, way better then my old turbosmart boost T
when i went on the test run for the brakes, i ran it through the gears, and hit 14psi in 3rd 4th and i only went to 5psi in 5th cuz i was already goin like 80 haha
i love my car :D

WOOT WOOT! gonna be getting a MSP 03.5 lip from discospeed :D
im goin to have to paint it but i was gonna have to do that anyways, man im freakin stoked lol

anybody want my dg lip? i can sand it down and prime it if anybody wants it
ill just ride without a lip for a while

...not sure lol i guess ill have to figure that out once i get the lip
i was thinkin of running it like the turbolife does but ill have to figure out the hotside routing

I too have wanted to replicate the TL setup but it would do me any good, my bumper has already been cut. lol

lol yea, mines cut up pretty good too but the lip should cover most of the stuff i cut

dam, trying to figure this piping out is going to bother me now haha i gotta go look to see how i can reroute it

yea decided against the lip, dont have 300 to blow on something i dont really need
i gotta get this high idle when hot thing figured out

well i went to start my car the other day and nothing, just clicking
so i automatically new it was the battery since my door light didnt work and neither did my power locks
so i ended up walking all the way to harris teater just to get some baking soda so i could clean the terminals (took me like an hour lol)
got back, cleaned the terminals and bam power and it started

so here is my question, how the **** does a battery corrode so fast? i JUST had this problem not too long ago, i read somewhere to put vaseline on them so they dont corrode...is this a good method?

Vaseline works fine but proper dielectric grease is probably better. After cleaning the terminals apply a thin layer then tightly connect the lugs. Finally apply a generous amount of grease on top of the lugs+terminals. The idea is to keep air away from the terminals which is causing the corrosion in the first place.

ahh ok, thanks man
it pisses me off when im trying to go somewhere and my car doesnt start lol ill go grab some dielectric grease from lowes tomm.

i use this anti-corrosion battery grease i found at pepboys, it's translucent pink. but it's prolly something similar to dielectric grease

x2 I also put those lil circle piece's of red and green felt you can also pick those up at pepboy's.

alright, ill pick some of that stuff up tomm. while im out
hopefully itll stop the corrosion problem, its pretty bad right now lol

just read through your build - good (and bad) job! lmao... glad its working out now though

btw, i need to do that pressure leak test... easy to build?
