(hi) Welcome to the board!

A lot of people have the Injen and I am sure you'll be very satisfied with it. Spool Turbo and Ion Performance also offer cold air intakes. See this:

AIR INTAKE
An upgraded intake allows air to flow more freely to the intake manifold. More air is allowed into the engine, which in theory increases your power. It has been shown that the stock airbox in the MSP is surprisingly adequate, but small gains can be had by upgrading the intake. Plus, a nice intake looks much better than the stock airbox, and will earn you extra points at a show. You're car will be louder, and the gobble from the BPV will be more noticable when an intake is installed.

Spool Cold Air Intake: http://www.spool-turbo.com/mspcoldair.html $150 (sale price)
ION Cold Air Intake: Ph#: 403-615-7269, Email: info@ionperformance.com
K&N Panel Air Filter: Replaces the stock air filter only with a more breathable filter. Does not replace the entire intake. www.jegs.com (Part #599-33-2134)

from the sticky thread that has lots of useful aftermarket information in it: http://www.protege5.com/vbb230/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29646

BPV=bypass valve. It re-circulates the air back into the intake system as opposed to venting it to atmosphere. The Mazdaspeed has a bypass valve. That's why some people who have replaced theirs with a BOV get stalling.

All the turbo timers are pretty much going to be the same to hook up, just depending on what features it has you'll be tapping different wires. It's not too difficult and there are a couple of good tutorials floating around. It just depends on what features you want. I went with the HKS type 1 myself. None of the companies offer a harness for our car so you have to splice all the wires yourself, but it's not that big of a deal.

And always remember, the search button is your friend :)
