just got back from the track!

17psi was only a one time thing. I only usually run about 12-14psi at the track on race gas, i do know what im talking about thank you very much

you don't sound like you do since you are telling people to run 20psi on a msp. god forbid someone sees your post and acctualy does that and blows their motor.

i disagree man, i ran a gst once...it had a 14b...well he wanted to run from a roll and i thought this guy is gonna be hella fast so turn the knob just a tad....and from a roll we launch and i peeled the **** out in 2nd and saw the gauge readin 21 psi!!!!anyway it was scary but it was quicker then 15.....ahelluva lot quicker.

I got videos of my dyno runs if anyone wants to host em, and some pics are in my profile....yes wheel hop does suck, i was only able to run low 13s due to it, id have to seriously let off the gas before the 60 foot marker and basically just run from there, plus when i ran my car i had bolts missing from my manifold a two big cracks in it which fouled my plugs!! Ive raced a few 12 second cars and beat them - including a few z06s..but I cant see what i can REALLY run till i get my WH issues sorted out.

271 whp at 15psi, that is emazing, what is your set up DiscreetSpeed? I wanna copy it.
azian6er, where can I download that calculator?

go to google and type in horsepower calculator and click the first link.

Make sure the wideband works pretty good, most in house widebands are not very good due to dynoing a lot of cars and sensors seeing all kinds of gas, etc. just a fyi

not a bad point.

Yea ive had bad experiences with dynos and widebands, lol my last dyno i went to the wideband was showing 14-15.xx a/f ratio(engine blown on an rx7), instead of showing 10-12 like it should. Better off buying your own off someone on a forum. Techedge are good, aem uego is good, there are a few others but techedge is prolly the best buy, and it works great, i have 2 friends with em, in fact im buying one as soon as the $ gets here.

so went the track in baytown.
on street tires on 116 and 15psi and ran a whoppin 14.4 at 105 with a 2.5(almost a 2.6) 60ft....that sucked bigtime...i launched at 3000 rpm and well 1st, 2nd, and half or 3rd were all ****** POINTLESS!!!!!
even with feathering.......

so i tried a little lower at 2000rpm and got a 14.7 at 103 with a 2.8 60ft...........
aahhhh who runs a ****** 2.5 or 2.8!!!!!**** the track lol....guess ill be back with some better tires.
next date the 7th or 8th....with some better tires..

nice trap speed!!!! you just got to get those 60ft's down.
try to 1/4 throttle it through 1st and then roll into the throttle through 2nd then wot the rest of the way! just my 2 cents!!
i also launch at 3000rpm's leave the throttle where it's at then when i get traction roll into 1st to keep it! lol it's hard as ****!!!!
s*** even if i roll into 1st @ 5000rpm's my tires brake loose...even with the fucken lsd!!! good luck!

If worse comes to worse, drop the tire pressure, not too much to be unsafe, but enough to grip a little better. I generally would drop down to 15-20 psi on my tires. Dont bother doing a burnout, street tires are for the most part...unaffected by warmup. DRs or slicks would be your best bet...

271 HP from that calculator is complete :bs:

I dont care what it says!
I have run traps of 103-104MPH with only a 14.0 to my name and have also dynoed my car to the tune of under 200 WHP!
I did however have 210 ft/lbs of torque if that makes a difference! And that is to the wheels not THE MOTOR!
I ran a 2.3 60 foot on my best run on 93 pump,no tire deflation and yes a WHOLE LOT of wheelspin!I tried to launch the car a thousand different ways and even from stock boost but with no luck!Even at stock boost levels,1-2 are pretty much useless!Anything above stock boost makes part of third pretty useless to!
Hell that only leaves you one good gear with traction!WTF!
God we need AWD to launch this b****!
BTW,Discreet,I never have called BS on ANY of your races as I too KNOW what the MSP is capable of on the street! This is not a car to be taken lightly with the right mods, right driver and right conditions. On the street ,this is easily a 13.XX street car which will surprise more than a few!
Cant wait for spring because this thing will hit the thirteens on some DAMN SLICKS!
MUST FIND TRACTION!
Traction is your friend,be ONE with the traction!
Matt;)

Be careful running slicks on stock axles...but good luck on gettin 13s, and yea- 271 whp would yield low 13s on street tires...lol

ps what the hell calculator are you usin to get 271 whp? or are you talking flywheel?

haha tire pressure was dropped to 18psi...lol didnt work for me at all.

does carboy have in house equipment to read how lean and rich your car is running? Or is that something you'd have to bring along? ;)
