Just bought one...

Turning in the CX7 in Nov. and we had decided on a Mazda5. We were looking at A plan on a new base model and went to the dealership last night so the wife could drive one. Wouldnt you know they had an 07 GT on the lot for 17k with 15k miles on it... Talked them down a grand and done deal. Picking it up tonight. Fully loaded, even Nav. Real happy!

Welcome man, it sounds like a great car. Post some pics when you get a chance! :D

Congratulations!

I love the look of the 07 GT. I have an 07 GS myself and I did tell myself that if every I have the chance of getting a 2nd vehicle, I'd get myself a GT.

i will post up some pics later. Have to shrink them to fit. LOL... Jen didnt want to be on the forum with the CX7 let alone this. She is however very Mazda happy. LOL... She has loved everyone she has owned so far.

Got tint this morning... Came out real nice. Wife said she felt like a fish in a fish bowl with all those windows. LOL... It is an Auto for whoever asked, wife doesnt like manuals. She can drive them but prefers auto.

Nothing wrong with Autos. Yeah, not as "manly" but after driving a MT for many years in Los Angeles traffic... you begin to see that Autos aren't all that bad.

Looking good! Now only problem though: try to keep it clean :D

J/k, keep us updated, good nice to see how the "downgrade" feels from a former CX-7 owner (glare)

Yeah, I'd also be curious to find out your impressions between the CX-7 and the 5.

I know they are aimed at different buyers, but it would be interesting to find out what your impressions are of both.

Well, what I love and hate about each the other makes up for. It is strange. I think the Mazda5 is a more logical vehicle for todays market and is just as versatile minus one thing... All wheel drive. That CX7 goes any where (on road that is). Going skiing and moutain biking is a dream with the cx7 and that disi turbo is an AWESOME motor. I mentioned in the michigan thread, the Mazda5 cruises nicer and has a much nicer ride than the cx7 but when you stomp the peddle to get past someone.... Not going to happen. That disi turbo just snaps and you are gone. However, you can watch the gas guage go down in the cx7. We have over 100 miles on the 5 now and it just got below a 1/4 tank, that is a half tank in the cx7. The only other thing are the seats. The seats in the 7 are much larger than in the 5 with what seems to be more adjustability (the 7 is only an S model with AWD). I can tell though the wife is real hyped (normally very passive with stuff like this) about the 5, she doesnt want to drive the 7 at all any more. Who knew... Plus, now that the nav is working and the stereo is hooked up and windows tinted it is pretty slick looking, I like it. I have a set of 18" gloss black 5 stars (my speed3 summer rims) in the garage that we are going to throw on it Saturday while ripping the door moldings off and cleaning it right up. It is going to look super slick. We will post some picks when done. Oh, 22k miles on a 2 year lease on the 7 with ZERO warranty work or CEL's. Great car just expensive to operate.

Yeah...those MS3 rims are gonna look good...I also got myself a set this summer and absolutely love the way it looks on the 5. I`ve kept m silver for now but thinking of going gunmetal next summer. My car`s silver....

you are going to enjoy it!

ill take your engine out of your 7, and put it in my 5

k thnx!

C&D is doing that, engine, brakes, suspension from a wrecked ms3 and making the first ms5, cant wait until they are done to see the results, i suggested he should to the same.

Well, we decked it out Saturday night. Ripped the door moldings off and threw my MS3 summer set on there. Looks nice. Wife hates it LOL and it is her car. Stockers go back on this week then. I do like the stockers as well though so it doesnt bother me much.

i know about the c&d 5

i wish they would update us on that!

what is with you guys ripping off the moldings?

They are rather wimpy on the 5 anyways
