Just a heads up for 2002 P5 owners....

Just wanted to pass on something that has happened to me. I was washing my car the other day and noticed something white on the hood on the passenger side near the front. And come to find out the paint is FLAKING OFF.............But the dealership I bought it from is going to paint my hood under warrenty. Just thought some of you might like to know about this and keep your eyes open for something like this........I tried to just get them to give me the money(the body shop they use is charging $300.00)so I could put it towards a carbon fiber hood, but they wouldnt go for it...... I dont know why they wont go for it........I would.

I've never heard of any car dealership that will hand you CASH in lieu of warranty work. Who's to say that you would even spend it to fix the "problem??"

Likely the $300 is just a number to put on paper - They probably have a sweet deal with the bodyshop they use all the time, and the actual amount which "changes hands" is probably far less - Probably about half.

I would agree with that. I don't think the dealership would pay $300 to paint a hood, and even if they did giving you cash would never happen.
