House will be completed in June 2014... Justine has about 80 acres of land, so we are taking the bare minimum of that (I think 2 acres) and building a house next to her parents, which is less than 5 minutes from my house. We both want to stay in this area and be close to our parents and family (all of which lives in Medina county).

Oh, and for those who don't know yet, we have a wedding date. June 21, 2014 at Ahern Banquet center in Avon, OH. Basically the plan is to have the house built so that our first night in it we are married!

2400 sq ft, not huge, but both of our houses are under 1800 right now...

keepin' my mazda peeps updated!

Because of all this, car stuff is put on hold, but I don't really care because so far this adventure has been amazing!

Chippy's all growed up now! Justine has him trained up real good. Thanks for the updates.

Sounds/looks like a cookout worthy house. Are you going with the extra storage in the garage or the laundry/hobby room?

Extra storage, plus a pole barn and deck relatively soon after the house is built ;)

Also, if you look at the floor plan, we will be removing the wall between the family room and living room... it is not a load bearing wall, so we can open it up into one huge room! Upstairs will have 4 bedrooms, two full bath and an open foyer. Room for little Chippies in the LONG AWAY future

This build thread just took on a whole new meaning... haha

Are you sure that wall isn't load bearing? With a second floor I think your floor might end up being bouncy upstairs. I'm no engineer so that is just a gut reaction.

The model home in Ashland is this exact model and they have that wall removed... builders will be K. Hovnanian homes, formerly Oster Homes. They said it was no problem...I believe some sort of beam ran through the ceiling, but I don't quite remember.

Ok, a beam in the ceiling to pick up the floor joists sounds right. The open-ness of the floor plan will be nice. It is also going to come in handy when you have little ones, they have room to play and you can keep an eye on them. The extra storage room will be good when you have to put them on lock-down.

Chippy, let me know when you haave time, I want to discuss a location where we can do a photo shoot of the cars that Marc had mentioned. I would also like to get the entire Ohio family together as well and then submit an article for Zoom, Zoom Magazine.

Marlon! That would be awesome for sure! For the day of the shoot, Sundays are best for me to schedule around. I only work 1 Sunday each month so I can almost plan when I'll be available. We should set up a dinner meet sometime during the week to discuss plans. Tomorrow I'll be riding in a car down to columbus from 10 to noon, so you could always give me a call then.

I'm thinking you have a location in mind?

Seriously, I am actually booking faster than I thought I would at this point for my photography(3 months into this thing!). So far I have back to back weddings in July, two family portrait sessions booked in april/may and about 4 more inquiries....I'm doing my cousin's 5 year old portraits in two weeks (practice for Lil' Andrew, Larry!) I just received an email today to do an engagement session for a couple! Unbelievable!

Just let me know and we can stay in touch to plan something. I'm open to just about anything, we can make anything possible!

^ That is good news chippy. I really hope that the photography takes off for you. You really have a good eye.

Cool! Glad things are working out for you. I will see if I can get some of the teams to use you at Mid-Ohio and possibly at other tracks. Let me know what day of the week works for you and Justine. We were talking about the last time we saw you guys was at Lime Rock!

Thanks guys!

Marlon, we can actually meet you any day this week except for Monday or Wednesday... We can be at wherever by around 6 or 6:30.

I plan on looking into getting a media pass for MidOhio if I can in June... I'd love to be on the "other side" of the fence. Other tracks like VIR and LRP weren't nearly as bad as MidOhio is...

I can't believe LRP was in ;ast September, almost 6 months ago already. Time flies!

Marlon might be able to help out getting the media pass... But you typically need some affiliation with some sort of media outlet or be able to prove that you are doing work for someone (letter from a magazine for example).

Back when I was in college I looked into getting a media pass and even had a letter from my University newspaper but was still denied the credentials due to the amount of media passes that were being requested (it was an ALMS/Indy weekend). It is probably easier for the Grand-Am weekends as they are typically less attended by media and fans.

Thanks guys!

I will reach out to Grand-Am and see if they can help me get you a pass? I was able to get one for Josh Hanley @ Lime Rock Park a couple of years ago.

Chippy, we will be meeting at the BW's off 71 & 18 this Wednesday @ 7:00pm...can you and Justine make it?

Sorry Marlon. I work until 10pm tonight and Wednesday this week... I hate retail!
