Is this a good MBC?? I have heard mixed reviews about MBC's. Some people say this is a good one other say EBC is the only way to go. I am short on funds so $45 seems better to me. I am only going to up the boost to 8psi. Please let me know if this MBC is a rip off or not. Thanks in advance for the help.

Ive had this boost controller for a longtime and it runs great right now. NO ebc is not the only way to go, thats just retarded. For 8 psi, joe p mbc is good and prolly the cheapest boost controller ever.

Perfect!! Just what I wanted to hear. I am ordering it today. Glad to see another MSP reppin the Yay Area!!!! Thanks for the fast response.

I have had no problems with mine either.
I will be going to a an EBC though for 10 PSI.

One more question. If I am only going to go to 8-9psi which one should I get?? The XZ or the XZ-S??

They are the same but one has a knob and you need a wrench for the other one if I recall.

Had mine on, hated it, took it off. It would wreak boost havoc with my car.

Got the unichip, been happy with it, came with an EBC.

End of story.

I would say MBC is the way to go. at our recent dyno meet with 6 msp's hiting the rollers, there was one EBC and it fluxuated from 8-10 psi up and down, up and down, all other cars ran MBC's and they put a MBC on the EBC'd car and were able to produce very heathy/linear hp charts. for $50 vs.$350 if you're only going 8 psi, I'd stay with MBC. Just keep boost low and you shouldn't have any problems.

If you are going higher, EBC only though, as it is safer IMO. They do require some tuning, but allow TONS of flexiblility.

If you want a 8psi you can do a mod for less than 5$.
No MBC or EBC needed, and it won't even spike. Plus the dealer can't see it.

did I got your attention all?

You got my attention.....I'm listening....

Yeah you really got my attention. I am listening.

i had the joep mbc. it ran well when it was warm out or if the car was well warmed up. on cold start or cool morning/nites, it would boost too high and i would hit fuel cut unpredictably. the boost constantly changed w/ the weather. it came to the point where i'd be afraid to full throttle my car.

but seeing you live in cali, it might work great for you w/ the warm weather 24/7/365.

I have a how-to almost ready to post. Just waiting for the original author ok so I can post the English version.

Still waiting for the guy to give me his approval to post the translated version. Maybe thomorrow. If not, i'll post it and tell him I,ll delete it if he doesn't like my translation.

At the worst.. thomorrow by noon it will be online.

woo! i have something to do tomorrow afternoon!

Yea... but why would it cost $5? All you need to do is turn the nut to shorten the rod, if I remember correctly.
