JL shipping question

I know that no online retailers are authorized to sell JL products. But what if they ARE an authorized dealer, and I want them to ship it to me. Will my warranty be valid?

what if who is? if you order JL products through a store that is an authorized dealer, and they ship it to you, then you'll still get the 90 day warranty that you'd get at any authorized dealer, if you install the equipment. if you have a certified tech install it, then you get the full warranty.

a) no authorized dealers online
b) I don't know if that means that they can send it to you or not
c) if it's a speaker, you only get like 90 days...if it's installed in a box already and they're willing to ship it you then get the full year...or you can have an authorized dealer check the install.

--edit--
damn, wake beat me to it!

D.O.B.A.!

Thanks. I'm trying to find a JL 8w3v2-D2 (dual 2 ohm) subwoofer. Anyone have any leads on an authorized dealer? Have these been discontinued?

THey area current, just not typicly stocked. Any JL dealer can order them. They are lying if they say they can't.

Okay, I just got off the phone with a JL tech guy, and he says they DO still make the JL 8w3v2-D2. I explained about the inverted amp and 8 ohm Kenwood sub. He believes this will work. But he had two questions that I couldn't answer, so I will ask you experts.
1.) Is the amp bridged?
2.) Are the power wire from the battery and the ground wire large enough to accommodate the extra current pushing the JL sub @ 4ohms? (as opposed to the current 8 ohm Kenwood sub)

Thanks for any input!

1) yes
2) maybe...it's a difference of 70W or so...the power wire should be ok...it's about 10-12ga or so. If you're not comfortable with it, you can change it to an 8ga kit that'll do you just fine for very little money.

1) Yes
2) No, upgrade to 8 gauge power and ground

the stock power wire is 10 guage... so if 8 guage is good up to about 250watts then youll be just fine running the kenwood at about 120watts with the 10 guage

edit: after taking another look at the wire it may in fact be 12 guage
