I take it from the insigna on the center cap that it's the same jesse james that does customer choppers. If that's the case then im sure you're shelling out some major cash for those things, but the quaility will be great.

yeah its the same guy. i have never seen rims like those i just hope they fit. i am sure quality is outstanding. the rims are not cheap about 700+ a rim but i bet not many people have them.

Read all about 'em here.

$766 a piece?

Ain't that the truth.

Whoa whoa whoa. Calm down here guys.

Jason-While I agree with you that $766 per RIM is ridiculous (that's over $3K for the rims with NO TIRES), if that's what he REALLY wants, then he's gonna do it anyway.

Brokemp3-I don't know how much you've shopped around, but that's a LOT of $ for rims, and you could get plenty of great looking rims for much less. And honestly, even if you DO get those rims for ever $3K, it only takes ONE bad parking job to ruin them (scrape). Not to mention they probably weigh 30lbs a peice and will make your car slower.

Also, what's with the attitude towards JasonH...telling him maybe he could get some "apc stickers for his car". So just because he doesn't agree w/ you spending all that money on rims, he's some kinda sticker ricer or something?

Anyway, if you want those rims, go for it. I really doubt anyone else will put the $ into their car for those rims. For that kind of cash, you can have a FAST car thanks to a nice turbo setup.

there is no attitude towards jasonh just some humor? i just wanted to know if people liked the rims or not. im sure that some people would rather spend the money on a turbo or pink bunnies to glue to the hood of their car..... i would like to have something differnt then everybody else i dont have a use for a turbo when i cruise.it does not do any good at 10mph you can all zip on bye with your extra 30 hp and i will gladly move over to the side to the slowlane for you. why cant people just leave things alone . i never said he had to buy them and put them on his car . and by the way i have shoped all over the place. dont want to spend my money on a pair of cheap knockoff rim that somone else coppied from racing hart or something. watch out i might spend 5 grand on some blue metalflake paint that glows in the dark. and i am, sure someone will post 10 diferent ways to spend 5 grand on there cars to make it into a space rocket bla bla bla bla bla.
oh one more thing i think just aobut everyone who bought a turbo or nos or some other go fast product has had some kind of problem with it how far is your car going to go with a blown motor................................ hmmmmmmm ?.
this is not aimed at any one individual just a group of people who allways got some better idea for somone elses ride. if you dont fit into that categoy then dont pay any attetion to my ramblings. if you belong to such a group i hope your oil return line breaks while you are racing a stock honda with four people in it with chrome rims and they beat you

Dude, switch to decaf :).

I'm curious to see if anybody buys those rims (and if they fit) as well. I mean, I was helping you! I posted a pic of the wheel, a link to the manufacturer's website and a price. Don't blame me for the "Pay Up Sucker", blame Jesse James, that's his hand. I thought it was fitting.

If I lived in L.A., had a shitload of money (or no mortgage) and wanted to stand out, hell yeah, I'd roll 'em. And they would certainly stand out at a car show. But most people who drive Proteges don't switch their wheels frequently, and I can't imagine those being your primary (or only!) set of wheels. Impractical is the word. And you can't argue with that.

You know i don't think fitment would be a problem....you can always tell them what offset and bolt pattern you want since they're all CNC'd from billet stock. Just change a few perameters in the the CNC program and boom one set of one off wheels. They are nice...and yes it's cool to be different...thats one thing jesse james is pretty good at. If you wanna see a sweet bike, minus the paint job maybe, check out the bike he did for squeal o'neal.

this is the emial i got back from www.jessejameswheels.com.
dont hate becasue i can afford something you cant

Thanks for the e-mail. Jesse's wheels are all liquid forged so each wheel requires a separate mold. What this means is we cannot offer different sizes without creating a new mold ($20K + per mold). The model 38 definitely will not work on the Mazda. I think we can get the Model 44 to work. It is a +38mm 18"x8" wheel and is available in 5x114.3mm bolt pattern. We can machine the wheel to +42mm and be very close. You will have to roll the fender lip, but it would be a great and unique look on the car.

i had allready posted a link in a different thread but thanks for the help anyway
and you did say you wanted some humor right?
yeah the bike he made for shaq was cool i can do a better job on the paint design (been airbrushing an designing tats for years) he got what he wated i guess

IF it is an 18x8, it is going to rub like crazy. Unless you had a +50 offset or something higher. I feel sorry for anyone who would spend that kind of $$ on rims, then something would happen to them.

Personally also, I don't like the looks of them. Chrome rims on Proteges just doesn't work for me.

don buy them
i am having a rim built and they are going to send it to me for fitment , i am sure no one is stupid enough to spend 3 g's on a set of rims that wont fit their car.
im sure you can find three other sets of rims for the same price as this one set bla bla bla bla............. and you cn be jstlike everyone else

the diference between a +42 and a +48(recomended ofset for and 18 inch rim) is .24 inch and i am going to have the fender rolled i dont think there will be a problem and if it does not fit then it does not cost me anything.

THe recommended offset for 18" rims is +48 for a 7.5" wide rim. By going to an 8" rim and adding the 1/4" difference in offset that has to be made up, you are talking about 3/4"!!! Good luck to you and I hope they work for you, but I doubt they will.
