we'll I think i'm catching a case of the jdm bug because I am almost nearing completion of how I kinda pictured my car to be and I guess I found another way to "dress up" my ride and keep the my hobby flowing. hehe nah but I think its a fad that I guess i'll get into for the moment before it fades. after all, its "the in thing" (lol2) but I guess thats my plan and we'll see how it goes. and maybe i'll eben get more points at the shows (shrug) we'll see... anyone else have the bug??

BTW since this is a JDM thread what is A Spec? I'm hoping its not what i'm thinking right now or I'll look like a dumbass in front of everyone!
 
yea I think it is american spec or something cause acura has the rsx a-spec at the dealership and they told us that its the american model based off of the japan model... but I coulda told you that hehe

Here's a little info.
A-Spec implies a high performance variant of a car; it can also mean the highest level of amateur racing competition. This is not a Mazda-specific term.
So, it seems I was partly wrong. (Although that's no big surprise.) It has nothing to do with the cars when it refers to racing class, but the level of the driver.

What's odd though is that it seems that A-Spec is the highest level of amateur racing, while B-Spec is a class for less experienced drivers. Why I find that odd is because Mazda released a RX-7 B-Spec that came factory equiped with a CF hood and hell of a lot of other mods. In other words it was even sweeter than the A-Spec cars. So, I guess when refering to a driver's class A-Spec is the top. But, when car companies name their cars A-Spec, B-Spec or hell even M-Spec, the same rules do not apply.

I kinda get it I think. I always thought Gran Turismo 3 A-spec was the american version but yeah it kinda makes sense sort of now.
 
A-spec, B-spec, R-spec are what mazda calls there factory sports cars. A-Spec being the street version , B-spec more for track and R-spec is strictly track. In touring car terms Group-N being prduction cars, Group-A touring cars, etc.
