jasyatz build thread

Yes you can, but on high grip surfaces needs a better rear shock to gain additional rear control. On the average autocrosscross lot, the Bilsteins are perfect.

I wonder if FCM could work some magic on those rear shocks, have you thought about contacting them?

I know I talked with FCM before I bought my Bilsteins and they should be able to revalve the fronts and the rears. I haven't looked into it any more than just asking though since it is going to be a while before I get mine revalved.

Haven't talked to FCM yet, spoke to the guys at Bilstein directly about revalve but haven't really come up with a definitive specification for them yet. With all the dual adjustable rears out there already for other "like" makes/models, may not pay to have the rears done. Just buy something from a Civc/Fit or Mustang and work on the valve stack from there.

Update on results of Dynotronics tune:

After much reservation, Joe rested my apprehensions, and got me an appointment for the true Remote Assisted Tune..Took bait over 2 hours, but car runs fantastic, midrange is very "fat" now, car accelerates very well from the 1-2 upshift all the way up to around 7300 rpm(reads 7000 on stock tach, but I'm told this is WAY off) so im not sure where it actually is.

Haven't had it on the dyno yet, but a few top gear acceleration runs from 35-70 mph have netted almost a full second decrease and the 0-60 is down almost a half second( a best of 9.38 and high of 9.65) down from 9.82 best and 10.28 high prior to tune)

As soon as Joe and the software guys figure out why my data logger won't stay connected, I'll do some data log runs to get EXACT data, for now a stop watch and reflexes are all I have( plus the GTech app for the phone, but that isn't always quite accurate.

Only thing I would change for the next update is lower the rev limit by 200rpm. You really only need 7200, it's at 7400 now, but when you get it up that high, there's nothing really there and the motor sounds a bit thrashy. That will put you right at 37mph at the bottom of 2nd gear and right around 4000 rpm which is perfect.

Got some more acceleration numbers. from 1500rpm in 3rd gear to 60mph averaged 10.19sec. interested to see how it compares to stock. Slight crosswind, but measured in both directions twice and averaged.

Not sure if I posted this one already, This was a weigh day back in the summer

not my car, but you can see the Tripoint bar attachment points and the "clearance" issues with the muffler and the evap(black box). If you look closely you can see the impact marks on the stock muffler in this pic.

Here's the clearancing needed to get the RB muffler to clear the Tripoint bar. Does not affect sound of the muffler, whether it affects performance is unknow at this time. Dyno to come in the Spring.

Here's the kink in the evap box. It's just the cage and does not alter the locations or damage any of the components in the cage.

Found a video that made it off the damaged card. looks like the only that survived

Kids don't leave the camera in the car overnight in the summer, the flash card will melt.

First event of the year, pouring rain. Pax 2 of 84. Car on the 205/50/15 Rivals felt great. lots of oversteer. Next weekend hopefully will be dry and can really go balls out.

New custom rear shocks are great. Front spring rate felt like it was enough. Rear bar setting was a little stiff but should be ok for dry events.

Alignment was perfect; custom camber plates added almost a full degree of caster and -0.7 negative camber. The caster you can really feel, at full lock the steering really loads up. Total camber 3.0 and caster at 4.5. Have enough clearance to run the Bilstein front struts with the 7.5" wheels without the tires rubbing the strut housings.

Will have some video next weekend
