I'm a "Noobie", so take this with a grain of salt...

I love my new car as it is. I'm not looking to "mod" it, I just want to enjoy it for as jong as I can... is this wrong?

yes it is. get the hell out

oh ok not really. actually i just made the comment yesterday in a thread about people new to turbo cars shouldn't be allowed to do anything with them mechanically for a year or so after they have them and feel they have learned enough to start playing

nothing wrong with that at all! think of all the money you'll save over owners like me who spend endless amounts of money on modding our cars!!! do, or don't do whaterever turns you on!!!

your not alone. I decided not to mod mine heavily either. Besides, it is leased. I'll just buy the mazdaspeed 6 or 3 whenever it comes out with more power :)

I put in a boost gauge and I have the JoeP MBC which I havent installed yet ( I wanted to get stuff done at the Dealer before I put it in, flash, bushings, clamps). I plan on upping the boost by only 3psi (got to keep under that 10psi mark). If I ever have the spare cash I do want to get a FMIC simply because they are more effective at cooling, although the extra horses are good too. :) And that's it! Really ;)

Don't feel bad dude.

I'm not modding at all. The biggest thing I did was Dave B Gauge Rings and Tint.... maybe a K&N Drop in filter... that's it.

I'm not much in the heavy duty mods either.. just a few minor appearance things to make it stand out from the other mid blue 5's..

All I'm going to end up doing is a boost gauge, MBC to 9psi, intake, FCD, and maybe down the road a FMIC, other than that I'm not going crazy.

yes you are wrong

Buy a boost guage and MBC and boost 10 psi. It makes a huge difference for very little money.

For the moment I've only done the gauges and MBC, but plan on the Apex downpipe w/cat, exhaust, and a custom SRI. I'm only running 9psi, and that is probably all I will turn it up to. I can say it made a pretty large difference in the cars acceleration.

Yes, I would like an exhaust, FCD, and a replacement IC for the stock spot. All fairly simple and inexpensive.
Well if you buy a DP then a catback like Spool's to go together and you can buy them at different times to spread out the cost.
All in all around 2k over 2 yrs slow and steady nothing too crazy or that can't be removed fairly easily.
Stock is good but for very little money you can up the fun and not tear up your car if you drive it sensibly.
Heck the MBC from Joe is only 45 bucks! I got my pod mount and Boost gauge for about 50$.
So for about 100$ you can run a safe 9PSI.
I run 10-12 but now that it is colder I have hit boost cut...

This is my first car ever, and my first stick ever. I'm not going to mod it either. Although, I was considering doing what yashooa suggested. More power for about $100 isn't bad at all!

I don't have any plans in the mods department, either. I might consider something along the lines of cooler air or oil later on, but right now -- I'm so happy, lovin' it stock, and gearing up for my first autocross!

blah.. yank that baby turbo out.. slap in something bigger, FMIC, new injectors, fuel management, ignition system, slam in to the ground on tien adjustable from the cabin suspension if they ever make it on some 18 inch volks.. hid conversion.. MBC, TT, boosta gauge, wideband, 4 tvs 4 12s 4 thousand watts powering them..
and after all this.. have the car repoed and file bankruptcy. -=)
just kidding..

After your done with that, your car still can't hang with a STi or a EVO at the track and the trade/sale value is lower. No warrenty and reliablity problems.

Trust me i've had a highly modded turbo civic. Its just not worth it.
