i just cant take it anymore...

P5 is gettin traded in a few weeks.

Prolly pickin up an RX-8 so ill def be around (love mazda).

But...this car is just....dying....epically weak motor and tranny

epic handling...but stuff breaks wayyyy too easily.

and overall...Im at 95k miles...car is running like garbage, including the warranty ive put 1k in just deductables into this car (about 5k in repairs and maintnence / replaced parts) in the last couple months ....

And its now running worst than ever....

I still owe 8k on the car, and warranty will be run out in 2-3 months, payin the deductable and getting everything i can fixed...then shes gone while shes still got some trade in value to try to help pay down the loan..

Very sad day because i love this car, Ive had so many great times and got myself into a whole new world of cars through driving a mazda.

Best of luck with your wagons, great car...just been not so lucky lately, These cars are absolute tanks..

dont take this as discouragement, my car has been in about 5 accidents and still ran great.
Its had just about everything that can break replaced, however i drive my car very very hard.

Like i said, best of luck but i am saying goodbye to the Pro5, ill miss driving her and these last few weeks will be cherished.

While I'm not encouraging you to ditch your P5, you can definitely negotiate a great deal if you do it before the 1st of Jan. Dealerships have yearly quotas they are trying to meet.

SO.

Im sick of all these threads calling our cars weak unreliable POS's.

I figured ide kinda give a nice example of just how "unreliable and weak" our cars are.

Firstly..this is something done by me, knowing consequences etc...BUt i did it anyway.

Basically its a list of things that have happend to the car and things i have done with the car while these things were wrong.

1. Didnt change my oil for 10.1k miles. During this time, i absolutely destroyed multiple very tuned and modded vehicles. Other mazdas, modded hondas, a subaru, and some other random cars here and there.

Mind u this all was on twisty roads (our cars are slow) and mine is Stock except for a short ram and some g-force tires.

2. I had virtually no front brake pads (to prove the stopping power of the stock brakes) the rear brakes do an amazing job.

3. 2 broken motor mounts. (for more than 6 months)

4. Blown front drivers side strut

5. Some other wierd noises i dont understand and have never heard on a car.

I have also taken the car on a very rugged very hardcore off-road course near a lake. It was on a primitive road at speeds of around 50mph (dirt) at night.

Meanwhile i hadnt changed my driving habits at all, I still drove the hell out of the car, I stomped on it all the time, flew it around corners, and gunned it in the rain.

The car never showed me any signs of weekness. It is strong and reliable.

Any doubts should be settled here.

ha... I may have to keep this for posterity... should your car find its way to the classifieds (lol2)

My car has 155,000 miles with the original clutch and timing belt. It runs like new. I did have the broken motor mounts though.

wow. 10,000 mile interval oil changes. Night time rally racing in a 100 hp wagon, broken struts, etc...

Sounds like the MP5 needed a driver mod.

ummm, let me clarify, first..im not an idiot, i did this on purpose, second, i only did the 10k mile thing ONCE , a SINGLE time, meanwhile checking it every week or so during the process. This wasnt neglegence, I have a full warranty that covers oil changes, i can get it done whenever i want.

I did it as an endurance kinda thing to see if there was any loss in performance, which there was not.

and i drove it hard..Because that is how i drive.

Everyone has their style, that is mine. .

Im not re-enacting the fast and the furious everytime i get in the car...I drive hard under proper conditions. 95% of the time i drive under the speed limit and use cruise control almost all the time. I treat this car very good. like i said..I did it as a test.
