I dono, maybe its be that is bipolar but sometimes i downright dispise my msp, then the next day, or even the next drive, i love it like no other car on the road.

Yesterday for example, i went on a hour drive with my girl. It was about 90 outside. From the start i knew me and the msp wernt going to get along that trip. About 20 min into the drive i got so annoyed with the various rattles and the constant squeak of the rear bushings going out again (just replaces 2k miles ago) that i had to end all conversations with my girlfriend and blast the radio. I swear i could still hear the rattles. Then every time i would break, my entire body would pulse....... people thought i was dancing, ****** rotors. Every time i would shift i would hear my shifter sqeal and squeak.

THEN! at the end of the trip i was reminded of the fact that my trunk release lever no longer works. Also my dam drivers side carpet mat keeps creeping to the right so much that there is a 6" gap between the left side and the mat. JESUS i wanted to drive to the nearest dealership and trade it in for anything!!!

Later that night, drive home. One of the best drives i ever had in her. Just smooth and fun all the way home.

Today, same crap!

I dono, i serioulsy feel like this car has PMS sometimes or something.

Sounds kinda like you're bipolar, more so than the car.

I think it has it's moments, but then again every car can't be everything to everyone so there will always be those times when we can find something we don't like. You just have to like it more than you hate it.

(wrc)

I kinda know what you mean. Sometimes I get 13.7's and sometimes I get 13.5's all night.

Funny you say that. just like mine.. I'd say its a alternative car (as in Sometimes Good, Sometimes Not Good) Once, the whole car feel tight and planted, strong and smooth engine, stiff yet comfortable suspentions... sound system is boomy as I like! All Goodness! Next drive and it fell like such a piece of crap.... bouncy suspentions, jerky drivetrain, noisy and breathless engine, bass-less sound system... craking all over.. BURK!!

WT?!!? Is this a contextual car?!?1

Dude, and I thought I was the only one with this problem... I thought it was all just in my head this whole time. The other day, I had some friends take a ride in my car for the first time... but all the panels were rattling while cruising down the highway... then the brakes started making this deep scratching sound... and then the engine started sounding all wussed out. Then the next day, it was a friggin rocket... solid and smooth, too. What gives?

Geez...

I'm the same way. I love it and I like it. I probably never hate it. Sometimes its great, sometimes just OK. Ripping a twisty back road is usually when I love it.

Yup, I'm the same too. Love it some days....dislike it many others.

About the trunk release thing....it's probably not broken. I thought the same thing about mine but it turns out that 'somehow' the little "switch" thing right on the actual trunk latch itself got "flipped" so the lever no longer worked. So just check your trunk latch - there's a small white plastic "switch" that's part of the latch and it flips up and down. Flip it whichever way it goes, then try your lever in the car to release the trunk and it will probably work.

Girth - I think your right, ill try it in the morning, thx!.

WOW! 75% think the same. Anyone ever have this "bipolar" feeling with any other cars you have owned? Maybe somethin is wierd with the ecu or somethin, i dono. Nobody else i have talked to have returned this sedament, except msp owners.

Nope this is the first car that I have owned that can run amazing one day and like s*** another. Once I get MPI and intercooler that will all be taken care of though

ya, the mat moves to the right all the dam time! im sure its how i get it, but still really pisses me off.

The seats are getting to me more and more every day.

two things i hate about this car. the gearbox. and the seats.
I concur...I've tried everything I can to remedy the gearbox. Somedays it's fine, but somedays I feel like my tranny & I just don't get along.

I think the POS ECU also plays a large part in the bipolar nature of the car.

Most days I love my MSP, but some days I feel just like SoniCraze.

AT least you don't have this damn metal noise every time the windows are up.it's kinda imbaresing when you have to explain why you allways have the windows down,or knowing this much about cars and not being able to explain a stupid little cricket noise!

I don't have that, but I have a loud ass whine. I think it's a vacuum leak, but it's weird that sometimes it's there & sometimes I don't hear a thing. (scratch)

err... what is a POS ECU?!?!? I know what a ECU is but what's a POS??? and what do they do toghether asin POS ECU??!? (puzzled)

I got that, too! Its a hissss-like sound comming from the back of the engine. Kind of a leak noise. AFAIK its from the exhaust manufold... but I dont know that much..

temp, humidity, altitude, poor ecu, runs too rich, heatsoak.

Get those variables going in your favor and the speed is great, drive to work on a hot humid day and get pissed, runs great in the cool of night on the drive home lol

BTW-i dont know if you are modded or not but now that i have upped the boost from stock the car drives much better (i guess because it is leaned out) and i no longer have any hesitation issues most of the time.
