is this the correct exhaust?

so i just bought a 2005 mazda3 s manual sedan with 50k miles and the sales guy said a brand new exhaust was installed and when i looked at it there was no exhaust tip and it looked very small in diameter. then we had him put it on a lift so we can see underneath and the whole new exhaust was installed but i dont think it is oem, it seems very narrow, like a exhaust you would see on a 1.8L engine, i would think this exhaust would be a little bigger. what is the stock exhaust diameter for this car? i hope this exhaust they installed is not a smaller diameter than the oem exhaust, that would cause so much restriction. if the stock size is 2.25", is that the smallest size most cars have? and as for installing a exhaust tip do you think this one should work? does this one work with multiple diameters since it says designed for custom installation? http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.aspx?A=EXH36445_0188952448&An=599001+102005+50042+2042001#

ok so since my mazda3 has no exhaust tip i was able to measure the tailpipe diameter and its 2 inches. wtf?! what is the oem tailpipe diameter w/o the tip on, can anyone measure theres to see if its normal for the tailpipe to be 2 inches, and im pretty sure the whole system was the same size as the tailpipe from when i looked at it on the lift. does anyone know where i can get the oem exhaust tip and will it fit since my pipe is only 2 inches?

2 inches seems right.. my corksport exhaust is only 2.4"

i read someone say that the stock size is 2.25"? so according to that mines .25" too small. idk i really wonder what the oem tailpipe supposed to be w/o the tip on it.

We really need underneath pics, but IIRC the OEM Mazda3's had the stainless tips, which this one is obviously missing, but I'm sure can be added on...

only thing is do the oem tips fit a 2 inch diameter, because thats what this tailpipe is. i would really like to know if thats the size its supposed to be.

What the **** is that... Rofl. Umm, I think you got ripped off.
It just looks like a fabricated POS pipe. The OEM exhaust tip is nothing like that, other than its sort of bareness.

The OEM tip is actually exactly like that except it has a COVER welded on...which is why we need pics of the exhaust from under the car...

Yeah, that's right. It's got a cover. But I don't see why the dealer did not put the proper exhaust tip.

If it had a bad exhaust on it before it was sold the dealer might have made this... The stock size is 2.25' I did some research on it.. so if thats 2' then it is the wrong size.

The stainless tip could have not been added for price reasons...I think it is about a $50 piece...

im pretty sure the pipes all the same size from underneath, its all the same pipe.

Yea, you are missing the tip for sure but you can just go to advance auto parts and get a new one there. I think somebody on here (Fam?) did that and his looks great.

Only difference is the stock tip is welded on and not screwed on...

Yeah. OEM spec exhaust is 2.25". 2" is not right. Nor is it an upgrade.
