So I bought a 20gb iPod from a seller "factorydealz" a few weeks ago. I got just the unit only because I will mostly use this in my car so I dont need headphones and I already have the software on my home pc because my friend uses it for his iPod. I tried to setup my iPod on my computer and for some reason it says I need to plug it into the wall charger to continue with the setup. My friend has the charger but I have not gotten a hold of it yet. I was just wondering if anyone out there has bought from the same seller. Also, does anyone with an iPod know if something is wrong? or is this all normal?

Sounds normal...once you setup it up...u should only have to use the charge to charge the battery.

Not quite sure since I haven't set it up using a PC. Try the forums at ilounge.com. It should help you out.

Plug it into the wall to fully charge the battery for the first time. This takes about 4 hrs or so. After that it won't take as long. While the iPod is connected to iTunes on the computer, it will not allow you to disconnect the iPod from the computer. However, once you turn iTunes off or you press the "eject/disconnect" triangle to the right of the name of your iPod in iTunes, you will then be able to safely remove your iPod. When you do this you will notice that the "charging" icon disappears and you get the normal iPod menu.

thank you very much. I will have to give this a try when I get some time

Also, any time you update the software version on the iPod, say from version 1.1 to 1.2, you will need to use the electrical plug that goes into the wall for the upgrade to take place.
