I searched and was unable to locate any threads which directly addressed this (one thread was similar, but didn't have any significant replies), so I thought I'd create a new one.
Being a former Integra Type R owner, I'm familiar with limited edition, numbered vehicles. Like many limited editions, each ITR included a plaque denoting its particular production number which was attached to the center console armrest. To the best of my knowledge (still don't own an MSP yet), the MSP does not feature such a plaque. Since everyone here seems to know their vehicle's production number, I'm wondering if any members had ever considered having a standardized number plaque created in some sort of "group buy" setup.
I personally think it would be a popular piece, and probably wouldn't be terribly expensive as long as the design was kept simple. If anyone else would be interested in seeing this brought to fruition, please feel free to post your ideas here. Design concepts and suggestions as to companies that could produce these pieces would be great. I may play around this weekend and try to come up with a few designs as well, and since I'm not yet an owner, some suggestions as to where in the interior would be best to mount such a plaque would also be great.
Well, thanks for looking everyone, and I hope this doesn't come across as a stupid "newbie" idea. (uhm)
Oh, I should also note that I'm not planning on personally selling these or attempting to make any profit from this idea, I just think it would be a neat piece to see produced somehow.
Here is a photo I borrowed of the plaque from a JDM Integra Type R, which is a bit different than the one found on US cars, but you can still get the overall idea. On the US cars, the plaque obviously read "ACURA" rather than "HONDA" and the vehicle's production number was engraved in the blank space to the right:
