Cold air or short ram which one do i go with and what is the diffrence between the 2

I did look in search but i wanted your guys opinion on what i should get the CAI or the SRI..and you cant find anything on the internet about the diffrence between the 2...the only reason why i was thinking the SRI was becuase the cold air in scared to seize my engine with water because it is my everyday driving car and i do need it

ok here's my opinion. I have a SRI. I like it. Though I don't own a CAI, I think I'd like a CAI better.

So in my humble opinion, pick up a K&N Typhoon intake, which can be converted from SRI to CAI and back, and call it a day :)

i had a sri and cai. i personally like the sri better. id buy one off ebay, but get whatever you want.

very true. For 40-50 bucks you've got an intake. The SRI isn't always the nicest-looking one, but I hear the Ebay CAI intake is really nice and looks just like the Injen minus the stickers.

yeah any of brand off ebay works. although people have some fitment issues with it hitting the mastercylinder. you can easily make it fit really nice. it will just take a bit more elbow grease.

to answer your question sri is suppose to be for low end power and cai for high end power. k and n typhoon can be converted to sri and cai. another thing, it takes alot of water to get the filter wet. i live in georgia and it rains alot here and in the past couple of times it's rained hard. when i first drove in the rain i was careful because i was on the high. i was scared that water would get in because i ran over some puddles, and i wasn't sure if water was getting in or not. so i got off my exit and went to the bp i always go to, pop the hood and checked the filter out, and it wasn't wet at all. another day i had to go through some puddles to get home, and i went into my garage and i checked the intake and it was barely wet. the filter can get wet, but it has to be submerged in water to do damage. hope that answers your questions and later.

In fact, here is an SRI for sale on ebay by a forum member. It is an ebay SRI with the K&N filter. I have that setup too, and it is perfect for me.

Here is the thread from the guy selling it, and the link to ebay is in it. Make him an offer or bid on it. The filter is $45 alone new, and the ebay SRI and CAI filters are no match to the K&N.

cold air pulls from the fender, outside the engine bay, and short ram pulls from inside the engine bay.

CAI is better in theory than SRI, but I've had both on several different cars, and just get what you think looks better, because their is not really a damn bit of performance difference in the two of them.

Also their is no difference in the expensive Ingen, etc as an ebay one. A pipe is a pipe. Just get an ebay one and then buy a better filter, K&N etc.
