Ill try this again. My last post didn't work.

I bought a short ram style intake on ebay. No instructions.

Where do you mount the mounting hook/rods . This thing is rattling like crazy.

Please help. I have installed in many other cars and not had probs.

Then again I HAD INSTRUCTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a link or picture of the intake you bought? Is it anything like a AEM short ram?

Go here and search for the keywords "ractive bracket".

Your intake may not have the Ractive name but it is an identical design (all the cheap intakes are).

I was going to say to mount your bracket in front of the battery tray. But now that I see a pic of it I don't think you can. Have you tried pointing the cone strait down?

Here is a pic of mine to show where the mount point is for me:

Hope this helps!

I see where yours mounts on the intake tube, without going outside and looking, is there a bolt hole on the car easy to connect this to?

azeli73: how much room do you have between the pipe and the brake master cylinder? and is that a filter on the side of your engine where the ventilation hose is supposed to go?

Yeah I've got the exact same one, but still couldn't find where to put the support bracket. I'll look around some more when I put in my Kartboy today.:D

YES. If I remember correclt this area is where the stock filter box mounted on top of it.

Plenty of room... no conflict there. This intake was built by BigBen. He told me to either block off the vent or get a filter. The onl purpose of the vent is to allow air to get into a cold engine. Being in Arizona this is not an issue. I plan on blocking it soon and getting rid of the eye sore...

You and KYREDP5 should work together on this one. My intake is nothing like yours.

How about this... Take that intake out. Dust it off... Put it back on Ebay and get yourself one with instructions! :D J/K...

here's some pics of where i mounted my bracket. my cheapie eBay intake came with 2 brackets. i used only one for now. i bent it 90 degrees and mounted on the engine. when the engine vibrates and moves during hard acceleration and engine braking, so will the intake. i don't think it's a good idea to mount on the battery tray since the battery tray remains stationary.

no flames please...i know it's totally ghetto but it's only temporary until i can get a better "L" bracket from Home Depot.
