i just purchased a fujita cai and in the instructions it says to remove front bumper to install the filter. so my question is: is it necessary to remove the front bumper?

it seems like the fujita intake is just the wrong size to install i have some pics.

sorry for the pic links im not to sure how to properly put pics on the thread. in both pics the cai vibration mount bracket is attached but the pipe just doesnt line up with the turbo inlet. and when i put the cai pipe into the turbo inlet the vibration mount didnt line up at all and i couldnt even use my muscle to line it up.idk if im doing something wrong or if the pipe just wasnt made right or something. also the picture with the turbo inlet in it is upside down im not a photographer.

I would. It's VERY simply to remove the bumper on this car, and makes life far easier.

did you tighten down the coupler an clamp on your inlet then try putting the intake on youre vibra mount? try loosening up your hardware then moving it around a bit.

i have an injen an apposed to being on top like yours i had to switch it an mount it underneath actually.

try mounting it with your stuff loose so it can move around a bit, if anything could be just a bad intake. and yes, its better to remove your bumper, its easy just some small bolts an pressure clips. easy stuff.

the hard part is not losing any of the little guys HAH!

My AEM said the same thing, but if you have a lift, you don't need to remove the front bumper. Took me a couple of hours by myself. I"m slow though.

I did my AEM with a floor jack and the wheel turned to the left. Plenty of access once the lower splash shield bolts/clips were pulled. The only hassle was getting at the bolt holding the air diverter plastic in, as that is facing forward. a small 12mm wrench got at that enough, though. Or you could just rip it off, not like you're going to put the stock box back on. 60 minutes tops that way.

I installed the Mazdaspeed CAI without taking off the bumper. Even if you do opt to take it off it's not that difficult to do but probably not necessary...

no, i did one of these kits in a parking lot.. at a meet.. so it doesnt take much to get this in.. its actually harder to get the stock parts out.. but, it is easy to break a piece here or there.. so be careful.. and id say leave the bumper on and use a jack... just take your time.. (headbang)

ok i got my bumper off but thats not the problem now. the problem is i have the intake in but it just doesnt fit to the vibration mount like not even close. i cant even force it up the vibration mount im just going to rig up something myself now.
