I am installing a rear strut bar in my car. I got the brackets put on and all the modding that comes with that. Now I just need to put the actual bar onto the brackets. My question was does any one have any tips in this part of the install?? I was told it is best to jack up the rear end, and then some how put outward pressure on the two top ends of the struts, then bolt the bar in plase so the bar supports like is supposed to? So any tips, reccomendations, or comments on that?? Also do I need to do an alignment after doing this??

Alignment, no.

Cusco says to jack the car up (the rear in your case) and then put the bar on.

Yah, I dont think it really matters, it was just recommended.

Ok, sweet. That will be easy enough. I will post some pics for yall after I get it installed. It should look pretty sweet. I painted the bar a metallic black, and put a chrome looking mazdaspeed sticker on it.

nice, i think you'll like how it feels. i definitely felt the rear was a tighter after installing it. plus it looks great.

Here is the picks of the strut bar. It was so easy I installed on my lunch brake I just had. I did a little autox run around my neighborhood and OMG! That just reduced my body role so much I love it!!

IMO, I have the 4 point and I think it is a little over kill. Something like that is good enough.

Good work!

is that anybetter then the gt spec 4 point or would the 4 point just give it a little less body role then that?

I would start with the rear strut bar, then add the 4-point...It will just tighten up the chassis a little more and reduce roll and flex....Just jump the gun and get the complete trunk cage kit...It's the GT-spec rear strut bar and the 4-point all together...I wouldn't think the 4-point alone would make as much difference as the Strut bar alone would, but together you would make the biggest difference....

Which bar is that???

This is an ebay bar for a MX-6. I found that thread that talked about these fitting P5's and bought one that second. This mod gave the biggest return for the money I have ever seen. Just goes to show yah some cheap mods are good mods and you don't always have to have the name brand parts. I wouldn't imagine the four point would be much better, I think it would help nose dives on sudden stops though.

Ya,the rsb was a breeze to install.Took about an hour w/o any jackin up of the car.It made so much difference.

Nice! I installed the Corksport MX6 rear strut bar recently, that was a good mod. Cheap bar too, and a little thicker than the ebay ones. If you were really good at cutting the holes in the panels for it, you could use those ~2.5" hole fillers on the if you went back to stock (the ones that are in the trunk panels, like behind the taillights.).

yah thats a good idea about the hole fillers. I was trying to figure out what I could use to fill the excess space on the hole I made around the bracket

i want to do this mod aswell.. you guys notice any difference in cornering and stiffness and what not???
