Turbo timer is just a toy and not needed for our car. Save your money and send it back.

Awesome. I'm keeping my turbo timer as well. I understand that it doesn't play a huge role in a car, but it does serve a good purpose. I go on long trips quite often (once every week or two) and it'll help during those times.

Just a question:
If I drive for...5 minutes or so, do I still need to have my turbo timer keep my car running to cool the turbo??

no. your engine barely has time to warm up.

a TT is only really needed after hard driving. Normal driving isnt going to do any damage.

What he ^^^ said Ninkumpoop. =)

I live right by Mira Mesa Blvd. (first) I'll be home this Monday night. WOO HOO!!! (birthday)(humpleg)

ninkumpoop i live in Northridge, I'll help you install yoru TT if you want. But its pretty basic. The "HOW TO" section is what I used and worked like a charm, many people have used that thread for referrence and its pretty informative

I'm down in Santa Ana - Might be able to do it at work on a Saturday that I'm not working.

I'll check with management on Monday and see how they feel about it. Doubt they'll give me too much grief, as it's not a BMW. However, they probably would have to write a service ticket on it (wouldn't cost anything, they just have to log the vehicle for insurance purposes).

I love the HOW TO Section!! HAHA

I read the HOW TO on the TT, very very doable!! Now.... how do I sneak a box full of car parts past the wifey..? (braindead(bang)

I'm gonna have a friend of mine install all my parts for me. If he has problems with matching times with me or with the actual installation processes, I'll be sure to hit one of you guys up for advice :). Hell, maybe I'll even ask one of you guys to do it for me. I'd willingly pay, of course, seeing as how money makes the world go 'round.

i'm in el monte right off the 10 freeway in the 626 area code. i'll lend you a hand. been meaning to find some more local speed3's for a meet.

Nice! I'm glad to see everyone closer to you willing to lend a hand! This'll save you the long drive! lol

Damn. Thanks, guys. If things turn out bad this week, I'll try to hit some of you guys up...starting with the closest location xD! I'm a noob at this stuff but am willing to learn everything from the basics to the advanced. If it means I get to talk, hang out, and learn about cars, I'm always good to go :). So if no go on this coming Friday or the next, then I'll be sure to let you guys know.

=)

By the way, my Apexi TT (black edition) arrived today..installing it tomorrow!

Be sure to post up a few shots of it after you're done. I'd like to know where you decide to display it. I've seen a speed3 that had it in the small little hole on the left side of the driver's dash where the knee would bump if you lifted your leg up. I'd like some ideas on other places that it might be good to mount it on.
