Ok, I did a search, and the results didn't give me what i was looking for, so don't yell..:D
But, I'm looking for some precise directions on the Injen CAI install...I've heard thier directions are kind of weak/overcomplicated. So if anyone could either direct me to where its already been discussed or fill me in otherwise, it'd be greatly appreciated. THX!:)

YEP Scott...here ya go....these instructions are better...use the ones you got with the intake for the pictures...which I think are crumby pictures...but these instructions that are on the Protege5Online site are better...here is a link to the page.

http://www.protege5online.com/Tech_Help/Injen_Tech/injen_tech.html

if this don't work for you....just give me a yell at jmh_jr@hotmail.com

also....NONE of the instrucitons talk about resetting your ECU....before you start the install....disconnect your NEGITIVE battery terminal....get in the car and mash the break peddle a few times...then do the install..when you are done....hook the battery back up...start the car and let it idle for about 10 minutes...you will be ready to go.

re-setting ECU

Sir Nuke, Does it make a difference if you reset the ECU? Cause I havent resetted mine yet.

Thanx...

Damn Nuke, not just informative but quick!! Thanks a million...
I really do appreciate it!!!:D

awwwwdamn...

Creepin on me Ry...:D
Yeah, the front desk just told me I have a package...I'm assuming that its probably that or an optical mouse I ordered last week. I'll shoot you an email when I find out...I'm gitty like a little girl...:D  :D

Why doesn't someone document an intake install with pics and commentary for the tech expert section? I'm sure many many peeps would love to see this.

Let me know...

Sounds like the Injen instructions blow, The ones AEM provides has everything, before & after photo's along with detailed call outs of the parts. I thought about doing a step by step but I felt its rather useless with such good instructions provided already by AEM.

I WILL, I WILL...
Seriously folks... i'll combine all instructions that I've gotten (take the best from them all) and pair them up with good pics.
i'll put them in my Yahoo picture account and let everyone know when they are there.
:D
wish me luck;)

your welcome Scott.....its what we are here for dude! :{D

PJ, see your mailbox....there is a PM there for ya! :{D

The instructions that come with the INJEN are complete...just laid our very poorly....and the images in the instructions SUCK. my 11 year old could have taken better pictures. I wish I had taken a whole set while I was putting mine on....and had put together a better set of instructions....but the actual instructions and pictures on the Progete5Online site are a LOT better...and makes it a lot easier to do the install.

:D

Nah I just want to make sure you get it. After all the problems some people had on this forum with being sent items...hehe no names mentioned...I wanted to be certain I kept in touch with you at all times. You should be expecting it pretty soon and I'd be hoping for the intake over the mouse anyday! :D

crikies, just a mouse...
I'll tell ya though, its a pretty damn cool one...optical and 5 buttons perfectly laid out...
:D

Hey Blue, you should have gotten an email with an "attachment" yesterday. Please let me know if you got it. the intake came in, and I put it on last night...problem is, that picture show and instructions that I had said I would do kind of got cut short...
I snapped a few pictures, but as the install went on, the sun was going down, and I realized my car was in a bunch of pieces...thus, time was the culprit...
But to make it all up...I'm going to still get under the hood and take detailed pics and put pointers and stuff showing what I did and where. I'll also try and reorganize the directions that injen gave as, like Nuke said, they are really poorly laid out...but complete.
I'll let everyone know when its all done and where to find it.

BTW, it installed well, not as easy as I thought it was going to be based on everyones words, but hey, it was the first car mod I have ever done (with the help of my roomate who had put one on his car too) still fiddling with the coolant resevoir to make it a bit more stable...but other wise, pretty damn cool...

Does anyone else's sound like a jet winding down (i guess actually like a tire being deflated :) ) when you turn your car off (air coming out of the tubes(?))? I'm assuming its normal. And it sound pretty damn cool....:D

That's awesome that it came in Scott42....I'm always a big worrier when I send something because it's something I can't control but it sounds like everything is ok. Got your "attachment" as well...thanks for being so quick! :)

It sounds like you'll be enjoying the new intake....great to hear!

YES they do....its NOT air coming OUT of the tubes...but air still being sucked in as the engine rolls to a stop.

something else....did anyone know that INJEN makes a ONE PIECE intake for our cars? I just found this out today.....not sure how the hell you put the MAS in there...but they make it. there is only ONE soft part....it attaches the tube to the throttle body.

check it out here:

http://www.autocarparts.com/search/results.php3?man=InJen&make=7&model=94&trim=386

where it has "Cold Air Intake (one piece)" in the description...click on that link. Also says it its available in Red, and Blue.

That one piece looks nice, though, I kind of like the ease that the MAF was attached on ours, that one looks kind of tough to work out...

Anyway, one side note that I forgot to mention, that I'll be sure to in my tutorial...
For people with an horn driven alarm system...
---When reattaching the negative terminal on the battery...brace yourself and stand to the side of the car... I almost s*** myself as soon as the bracket touched the battery, that puppy started going off...

I scratched my head and got real worried, then a little logic was thrown at my by my roomate...use your keychain thing to turn it off... :o D'OH, of course...it turned off...:D Felt like a real dumbass...Three guys with their head under the hood, the alarm going nuts and car parts everywhere...:D
The neighbors love me...
