Its just a filter that doesnt use oil, it's made differently. I read some stuff about air filter oil sometimes causing problems with the MAF. Sometimes it comes off the filter, travels up the intake, and can stick to the MAF which could screw up it's readings.
So just to be safe, I found the part number for a very similar dry flow air filter and used it instead of the included filter.
It's probably a very small concern to be honest, i'm sure i could run the Injen filter and the hydroshield with no problems, but I thought it was better safe than sorry. Plus it's a hassle to remove the bumper just to change the filter, so the dry flow is staying where it is.
The Injen filter and the Hydroshield are sitting in the Injen box in my closet. That way if I ever sell the intake, i'll include everything, dry flow, oiled filter and the hydroshield.
