Injen CAI to SRI

that just seems like a bad idea in the sense that you're making a break in the object that's supposed to stop stuff from coming in.

not that the end where i inquired is tons better, but it seems like it'd seal better than wiggling the sensor into the actual filter fins.

you've done this and it works alright?

Yea. And a new filter is about $23 anyway. You make a small hole and you make JUST the sensor fit in, the round flat part covers the hole so the hole your making isnt going to be a big hole. I've been doing it for a long time and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

It's gonna be a tight fit you know, small hole jjust big enough for the sensor to fit. It shouldnt be able to turn easilly so make a small hole and your in there like swim wear.

hmm .. doesn't sound all that bad.

i think i'm gonna give this a try.

only other thing .. in removing the pipe that feeds down into the wheel well, do you lose much stability without having that one bracked bolted down?

this has been posted a million times (no offense to u tho), but i dont remember 100% what everybody did. If im not mistakedn, i think they just drilled a hole in the pipe behind the MAF and stuck it there re-using the grommet from the airbox. If u do a search, thousands of Threads should pop up. ok, not really a thousand, but alot!

No, I mean it probably wiggles around a little. Most people think it's more responsive short ram and it is. I don't have mine bracketed down or anything.
I don't even have any clamps on the coupler that connects to the turbo intake inlet. My intake pipe is just chillin lol. I'm serious.

lol. nice.

doesn't seem like much stress would be put on it, but i had asked my pops, and that's just something he threw out.

i think it'd make the engine bay look a bit nicer doing it this way. and, for next time cleaning the filter, i won't have to go digging up in my wheel well from under the car again.

think you could snap a pic or two of how you did yours?

no pics, suck at uploading/sending them and vids. I've tried and I'm not doing something right.

Just attack the filter with a sharp ass knife to break into the filter, then start pushing in the sensor until the hole is just big enough.

It's not hard at all.

I forget which company actually makes a filter that has a hole in the rubber surround for the filter for an IAT. Maybe Ractive??? Look into that before you start cutting your filter up
