Injen CAI DYNO

i know im just tellin ya if you had the stock then cai dyno that woulda been perfect...although truthfully i dont rely much on dynos but thats just me, but when i see a funky dyno like this one, i get very skeptical, a intake for a TURBO should NOT change the power curves like this

this is true but from personal experience with just the intake on it definately pulls better then with the stock air box and noticably i might add

it may feel that way, because its louder, but untill i ride in a car stock vs. the cai i don't want to comment on that except for this dyno that thing is definately wierd...

also, just a thought as i said before i would like to see A/F ratios because with this intake it might change the a/f around and therefore increasing horsepower, which intern with the stock airbox if you tuned your a/f ratio's yourself would most likely result in the same thing...just a thought maybe im wrong..

It would be nice to show the a/f ratio. But If I'm not mistaken, according to the graph, with the Injen CAI, the max torque is still within 3600rpm - 3850rpm range with 159 ft/lbs. The torque range for 6000 rpm is around 130 ft/lbs.
The dyno graph looks pretty reasonable for me. Nothing seems to be weird.

Let me ask this i ran 15.1 with the injen my car isnt flashed so what time do you guys run stock without the flash I think the injen helped with my rich fuel too its not hesitating as much

Those dyno results are from the Injen webpage. I would rather see some independent dyno testing of the CAI.

I agree. They could have heat soaked the tiny IC and use that as the base run and then let it cool off for 30 minutes while installing the CAI and use that as their after dyno.
141 whp for a stock MSP seems a lil low.

im REALLY thinking about getting an injen instead of an apex DP for now... just for emissions purposes... perhaps an injen and an apex turbo timer or somthing.. we'll see.. black injen in my black speed would look mighty fine :)

Just get the Apex DP with the hi-flow cat and you'll be fine. That's what I am getting.

I've done a G-tech run w/ my Injen & came up w/ an avg. of 161.83 HP...since I haven't done a baseline, I plan on doing one once I have a full saturday to burn. I'll switch out back to stock airbox, then do the runs (in 2nd)...get an average...then switch back to the Injen & do the same runs again. I'll definitely be posting up the results once I get it done. (BTW my car is flashed)

Looking strictly at the power curves on the sheet it looks like the CAI did away w/ some of the flat spots we have w/ the MSP. That itself is a welcome improvement.

Top of my head guess would be that the CAI is flowing more and colder air to help w/ "lean out" the overly rich condition we have. If it can make use of that extra fuel by feeding more air to it. GREAT!

Keep in mind that dyno was before the flash. I'll be bringing my car back to Injen after the 1rst of the year so I'll post dyno's.

yea i got an injen intake too. :confused:its not so bad. But thats not that bad.  More power increase then i thoguht of. Nice.

:D Ya I have the Injen RD6066P :D , I like the way it makes my car sound and the way it runs.... BUT someone said that the gobble sound was the sound of the air back flowing in to the turbo , (hand)Oh Hell why am I here fixin to ask you guys (hand)DOH ,

I will come back from Injen and post my findings (bang) Like thats really going to help (bang) But I have to trust them to know more about what there talking about than you people.

You people are nice to get Ideals from but hey there are way to many of ya talking s*** about s*** YOu know nada about , and don't even (so to say) OWN an MSP :wtf:

(upyours) OK FLAMERS (hee hee flamers;) ) spit it out get it out of your system!(upyours) (poke) (fuoops) (jerkit) (asshole)

Are you having it flashed? If so why? The flash is to do away w/ the flat spots I thought. The CAI seems to have done that.

Maybe its just me but Im yet to see many GOOD consistant results from flashing. Seems to be a lot of people saying the hesitation is back....and worse.

Just what in the blue hell are you talking about?! :wtf: Ive deciphered some random babbling in the past, but all I can say here is............

HUH!

The sound is there even without the CAI, but the stock airbox muffles it.

thanks Justin...that's exactly what I was gonna say....it's there regardless, just you can't hear it as well w/ the stock setup.

yes a G-tech is = to a dyno, uhh im gona go ahead with NO, why don't you goto a real dyno and take off the injen intake and then put it on and do runs like that, a g-tech won't really tell us anything HP wise, might as well use the awesomely known - butt-dyno

Actually the g-tech units are shown to be very accurate and consistent, as long as all sources of error are attended to (accurate weight input, finding a completely level surface to test, etc.)

I still prefer seeing an actual dyno, but I'd take a g-tech run any day over a butt dyno.
