Not really, but I some black stuff came out my exhaust pipe when I added the injector cleaner via the PCV vaccum line, so.... It cleaned something.

Maybe BlkZoomZoom can tell you more...

I felt a difference the first time I did it at 15,000 miles. I did it again at 18,000 and didn't notice anything, but I suppose it's better that there was no difference after only 3000 miles.

i've been told that injector cleaner can gum up your O2 sensors. any truth to this? wouldn't it be best to remove the injectors and soak the nozzles in the cleaner? i've never used anything like this in any car because of the O2 comment i heard about. I also heard that O2 sensor cleaner will gum up your fuel injectors so you are screwed no matter what you do. i bought some Tolulene (it's like pure octane) from an industrial paint suppy and i just put about a gallon of it into my tank once a month with my regular 95 octane. bumps the octane up to around 100 or so. I figure thats enough to clean them out once a month. any truth to this? i just rolled 20k miles and i've never actually "cleaned" my injectors with anything. just curious i guess....

Hmm, if you have access to a sonic parts cleaner you could put the injectors in a cleaning solution for awhile. My dad used to have a small one that seemed to work quite well. It was about the the size of a water-pik.

Again...this is more effective as a top engine clean than a fuel injector cleaner. This keeps the carbon build-up to a min. so you dont create hot spots for detonation to occur.

Seems like going through the pcv won't get evenly into all pistons. Do you do each side for a while?

I leave the tee fitting connected. The pcv has channels inside the intake manifold. I wouldn't know how to get it more evenly distributed.

I just put some in my gas tank, and I'm wondering if it lowers octane levels while it's in there. Should I try to stay out of boost for the rest of the tank?

You can either dump it in the TB slowly or suck it up in a vacuum hose.

the way i did it, was by taking off the brake booster line (the end at the brake booster). its not exactly easy that way because the car tries to stall out b/c of the massive vacuum leak. but if you keep your thumb on the end of the line and use a small dixie cup or something to hold the sea foam in, it's not too bad.

I just pour it in the PCV vacuum tube after driving around for a while. I let it sit for 5 minutes and then start the car. I then let it idle and rev it a few times and then go for a short drive. This stuff makes the car feel 100% smoother. With our pig rich MSP's, I don't see how it can hurt the car to do it at every oil change. They also make it in a spray form that you can spray into your throttle body. My throttle body always looks clean when I pull on the hose, so I haven't tried that.

Its the best $5 that I have spent for the car! Try some today if you never used it. 1/3 of the bottle works just fine, no need to dump 16 ozs in the car.
