Air Temp Sensor that goes into the MAF to ? Does anyone know if it is separate from the engine harness and where it goes from the MAF? The guy that is getting my car running again said it is missing, and I need to find another.. just wanted to make sure it's not hiding somewhere on the harness. Thanks.

as far as i know, the air temp sensor is seperate from the maf - two different sensors

I got my car back from the shop and now have found the plug for the sensor. But, where does it go once I get the sensor? Does it connect into a pipe, or ? I have a MAM FMIC.

The IAT is separate from the MAF but splits off of the harness with the MAF then branches out.

When i bought my car the kid tucked it behind the fuse box but now its in my Injen intake

Hmm.. so you literally do put it inside the piping? (Take off a coupler, put it in there..) Since it is a temp sensor.. Sorry to sound bad about all this.. haven't seen my car together in forever and now having to relearn all this stuff.

i used a drill press and wraped the intake with a cloth when i was drilling i sprayed the metal with WD-40 to keep it cool.

wow your a idiot, how the hell does it matter where the sensor is. the air temp will be the same no matter where the hell it is, and you should know that several members just leave their's hanging lose in the engine bay! oh and there is no way to place it before the maf its a short ram unless you wanted me to place it inside the filter!

Actually..where you install it will make a difference on the temp it sees.
Air after the turbo will be warmer than Ambient ...Just to make a point.
It all depends on the setup.

Some just stick it in the hole below wehre the stock Airbox is into the fenderwell to read outsiide air temp...Rich(505zoom) has it done this way I believe and would be more than happy to show you some pics.

i have seen pics of his (505 zoom) set up. the sensor is suppose to be in the intake not after the turbo i do belive.

My IAT was in after the MAF on my short ram intake by Turbohoses. I say WAS because it was dicovered to have a vacuum leak....so the whole was plugged and now I have my wire running along to the driver side front fender. My IAT is zipped tied there...it reads colder air now I guess...and haven't had trouble since.
