Indiglo Install?

By the way, guys... I dunno if everyone else did this or not but I recommend removing the gauges from the cluster so that you have more play with the existing stock face. If that doesn't make sense, I'll try to take some pics when I go out to remove my gauges so I can smooth the fuel/battery light cuts.

That last pic also shows the connecting rods holding the gauges. It's a very small metal rod that WILL snap easily if you press up or sideways too much. Be sure to hold the needle down with plenty of force on the BASE of it.

It looks like the black pieces that hold the needles extend a lot farther on my MP3 cluster, although it's hard to tell. But from those pictures I can see how you'd be able to slip them on without cutting because once you get it under the needle there's not much else you'll have to deal with at the end of the needle. Mine had a good half inch maybe that I had to get over. I could be wrong...they might be exactly the same and I'm just seeing things.

I want to install mine but I'm not sure if they are the same as these. Here are some pictures of the backs of them.

1st - Tachometer
2nd - Spedometer
3rd - Temp/fuel

Can I cut these without cutting into the power lines making them unusable?

ship me your cluster ill do it for ya. its really not that hard man, Take the cluster out and I promise you'll get the motivation to do it. Relax and before you know it, they'll be in the car and you'll get a s*** load of compliments on how they look at night.

The problem is I don't know if mine will fit without cutting and if I don't know if its possible to cut mine without cutting the power wire.

okay, they are reverse indiglo right, you can cut them to a certain degree but dont cut all the way through it. or else it wont work. you can cut a little on both sides.

WOW!!! I successfuly installed mine without breaking a needle or cutting it!

I am so ******* happy right now. What I did is press down the new gauge on the left of the needle and let the right side stay in the air to go around the right side of the needle. I took the approach of **** the gauges. I don't care if those break, I jsut dont wanna break a needle. I did however snap a little plastic piece off of the clear plastic that you have to remove. O well

Exactly.

hehe, i fixed my gauges!!!!

worked out not too hard after all
you have to take the temp/fuel gauges off cut the top, then put in a small bushing.... i used one for a pair of rimless glasses (silhouette TMA/TNG bushing - ask an optician!) then i put a dab of glue on the needle itself, and inserted into the bushing.... allowed to dry etc.... works!!!!!!!!!

these pictures sure don't do em justice but I'll post em anyway. These things just look so damned cool in person. Definately a worthwhile mod.

How exactly do you get the gauges out of the car? My indiglos came with no instructions. Also when everyone is talking about snapping there needles, are you talking about the orange part or the black part in the middle?

These seem easy compared to my old car the indiglos were all one piece talk about a pain to install!

they are talking about the black part snapping with the post - it snaps inside the actuator thingy
