Indiglo Install?

t3ase is right,
find the balls and do it. Once you do it looks very nice. I was really hesitant when i got my gauges, but read this thread, its very informative and encouraging.

One big thing.. I read all of these threads on here about "OHMYGOD DONT BREAK IT@!^&#%" and was nervous as hell, which is why I cut the tach gauge. THat calmed me down a abit and I was then able to put the speedo and temp/fuels on without cutting. Just take your time and hold the needle down as you slip the gauges over. Then needles will NOT break if you're pushing down. It's the pulling up that breakds them off.

Also, put on some music, drink some mountain dew.. Whatever.. Just relax when you're doing it. You're going to break stuff if you're amped up and twitchin from being nervous.

Uhhh my temp gauge needle broke because of too much pressure on the end of the needle ( the black end )

Too much pressure upwards? I can see that.
Too much pressure directly down? I cannot see that.

Unless you pulled on the gauges and you basically "cut" the connecting rod with the force from the gauge.

You're making this out to be a little too easy. I'm very impressed with you being able to do this without cutting. I cut mine pretty decently and after 20 minutes of trying I still couldn't get them on. It's really helpful if you use 2 hands, 1 to hold the gauge down on one side and up on the other side, and have a friend hold the needle down on the black base.

Just use caution when you do this. A cluster is very costly to replace. And yes, relax when you're doing this. I got worked up a few times and had to chill out and go do something else for a while. If you get too worked up you may try to force it.

as you're sliding it on, at least the way I did it, you keep the side that's already on held down, and the part you're trying to slip over the back of the needle up.

making it out to be too easy?? t3ase seriously did all 4 needles in prob no more than.... 8 minutes. hes got a unique ability to not be nervous in such a serious situation ( i had to go into the other room b/c i was so nervous and didnt wanna give him bad vibes ) and when not nervous, the install is a breeze and the needles will take pressure from every angle but up if u are applying pressure down

The installation is very simple.

I put the gauges in and a few months later took them out because I was tired of them, and not at one point did I think I was going to break a needle.

I wouldn't recommend my way to someone else.

I just took the needle and pushed it down so that it wouldnt bend when I pushed the gauges over them.

Like I said in another post. It's all about feel.:D

exactly. thats all you do ;P

even those t3ase did it quickley, she did a great job, i hope NO ONE else cuts their gauges before they try it first without cutting

I can link you too numerous posts of people breaking needles. You're really coming off as if I'm making ludacris statements.

EXACTLY! Not everyone has that "unique ability." All I'm trying to do is help people avoid breaking their needles. Do it whatever way you want. I dont' care who's method you use, just be careful and very conscious of the needles. Just trying to be helpful.

I'll try taking some pics when I get my new gauges. I'm determind on doing them without cutting anything at all, even the tach.

i actually got them at procarparts.com when they were on clearance for a mere $25ish bucks but im not sure where to find them now. I know u can get IDENTICAL ones on corksport for a lot more, mayeb try ebay?? thnx for compliments

Looks like glare from something. There are no red lights back there at that specific location. If it *is* a light, let me know.
