Im back and with a new protege 5

Sweet. Another Protege 5 owner. It was the right thing going back to Mazda. Welcome back to the Mazda family. Enjoy the (drive) with the P5. I sure do everyday...

your first mistake was buying a pre-swapped honda. thats a no no in the honda world. im pretty sure he beat the hell out of it and probably stuck thicker oil in it to make it sound sincere. how much was the rebuild?

i came from a swapped honda and the only problem it really had was a burnt ecu. it lasted me about 2 or 3 years before the timing belt went (i was lazy lulz) and i decided to sell afterward to a fellow cb7 owner. I miss the high end power a lot believe it or not.

i do love the protege although its had its problems already. but its such a nice car and it drives true. i dont really care about speed anymore so its perfect for me. so you are going N/A?

i'm very sorry that happened to you but you cant blame honda for a bunch of morons that did s*** work to the car, you said it yourself they cut corners, and just a bit of advice, as i'm sure you now learned, and i myself learned the same lesson, never buy or trade for a car that has been swapped. i traded for an ls/vtec civic and that thing was fast as s*** but the guys that did the swap were a bunch of MORONS that cut so many corners it was ridiculous.

but i must say, i drove that ls/vtec HARD - VERY HARD for a year in florida heat, with it leaking from the head, loose valve ( i think, the head was noisy/crackly) and it smoked / popped and everything else you can think off but kept running and always turned on when i turned that key.

i miss my old cars, but i love my protege 5, always loved those things, but so far i'm kind of worried cause i've already got check engine light in it after 2 days of having it, the a/c on 2 and 3 has been not running lately, the car had less than a qt of oil in it when i got it (all of which no doubt cause of the previous stupid **** owner doing that on purpose, knowing he was gonna trade it so not bothering with changing the oil, and pulling the power off the battery before i test drove it, thus resetting the CEL) and then i found out that mazdas are Fords and that is a huge no no for me so i dunno, i'll prob keep it and buy myself an old EG hatch and play with that thing as my toy and do a swap myself and do it properly.
