Due to a financial triple whammy that hit me in the last couple days, I am ceasing possession of my car until graduation. It will be staying with my parents in Arizona. This will save me money in many ways; I will not have to pay the insurance on it, I won't have to pay money to keep gas in the tank, I also won't have to keep it cleaned/maintained and won't have to put money into more mods.
I will retain complete ownership of the car and all the decision making process related to it. I simply won't have it with me. Does that make sense? What with IIT hiking its tuition rates yet again, a single semester is going to be nearly $15,000. Prioritization demands that I cut my biggest expenditure - having the car here in Chicago.

I can't say that I disagree with you, though. Keeping a car in the city is friggin' expensive- especially Chicago.
I'm going to be in a fairly similar situation to you about a year from now. I hope it works out, and I hope you stick around. We'll have to rely on James to drag you along places.

Oh yeah, definitely. I'm by no means quitting Mazdateam or the Mazda scene. I am just putting the car on hold for 4 months.

I just don't want to start anything really... I am worried about this CEL though. I checked everything under the hood and nothing is loose or damaged or anything! To be honest I'm worried about the whole 'going to meets' thing more than anything else.

^ Just one, and then I fired it up twice more for only a minute or two to look under the hood and see if any fluids were spewing everywhere... I mean, the car has 6600 miles on it, I don't want trouble already! And I don't think and inlet/intake would do enough to throw a CEL.

Get emancipated (kidding.) Sorry to hear bro, but it's technically their car in the end. I guess just respect what you got, take care of it (not saying you don't already) show them that modding/working on your car are your passion, not just a phase. If you can show them that your responsible enough to not screw up the car, and you take care of it, they might change their attitude.
