I only like "my" color...

I know this may seem obvious and trivial... but so far, I've seen Copper Red (My car's color), Black, Blue, Silver & gray (I forget which is which) while driving around.

I dunno if I am "biased" because it's the color I have chosen, but I LOVE the look of the red one I saw drive by me. The blue one did nothing... I am not into the silver/gray ones... the black one looked "okay"...

Have any of you seen others on the road... and what did you think of them from an observer's perspective...?

I really thought the red looked sharp.

Color choice is always biased. Each person has different goals and emotional keys from the vehicle itself and color they choose. There were some correlations of personality to color. :)

Silver Elegant, loves futuristic looks, cool

White Fastidious

Vibrant Red Sexy, speedy, high-energy and dynamic

Deep Blue-Red Some of the same qualities as red, but far less obvious about it

Taupe / Light Brown Timeless, basic and simple tastes

Black Empowered, not easily manipulated, loves elegance, appreciates classics

Neutral Gray Sober, corporate, practical, pragmatic

Dark Green Traditional, trustworthy, well-balanced

Bright Yellow-Green Trendy, whimsical, lively

Yellow Gold Intelligent, warm, loves comfort and will pay for it

Sunshine Yellow Sunny disposition, joyful and young at heart

Deep Brown Down-to-earth, no-nonsense

Orange Fun loving, talkative, fickle and trendy

Deep Purple Creative, individualistic

They may only look OK, but the black ones are by far the fastest! (nana) I came very close to buying a lightly used black-cherry, but was able to work out a better deal on a new black at another dealer.

Personally, I think I could drive any color on this car! I see a white one daily (the good twin) and that is sweet, but for some reason a little "feminine". Two gray ones by my job (one of each color) and a sky blue one that I spot on the way home from work sometimes. Actually, now that I think about it; the only color that I don't see often is the red mica...

its funny - most cars look the same to me, no matter what color they are. for some reason, and its funny this thread popped up - the 7 looks like a different suv in each color, and each color somehow accents certain traits about it that a different color will not. Its just my opinion, but i really thought the black, black cherry, and red were the only serious color options that really distinguished this suv. I was 99% ready to buy a silver one and then i saw the black cherry - it made its apperence 100% different to me.

i really do think its quite odd with this particular car, how each color is so different and creates a different opinion on appearence. I thought the white made the front grille just look too black and like a mouth of a whale. The silvers for me were to laid back and didnt really jump out like the carbon bronze or gunmetal of the acura, the blue well - its blue i dunno eveyrone is different! ;)

I tend to agree, Scott. While the CX-7 looks great in every color, the only color that really turned me on was the electric blue. In fact, I bought the car from a dealer 4 hours away b/c they had what I wanted in blue for a good price. Strangely enough, I have yet to see another electric blue on the road, even though I've seen every other color (except black cherry).

my wife wants the Copper Red, i want the Brilliant Black.. We ended up with the Galaxy Gray to be neutral (fight)

I'm ordering the blue one. I agree that each colour looks like a different car.

The cheery/black one didn't look enough like a CX-7 to me if that makes sense. The silver looks good but lacks a bit of....I don't know; excitement?

I haven't spotted a blue one in the wild, nor seen one at a dealer. I'm actually buying it sight unseen at the mo and just going off pics.

I have seen:
silver - nice but bit boring
Red - add's some class but looks a bit street bound
Dark or cherry red - non-suv paintjob
White - boring as, lacks refinement, un-distinguished
Black - very nice, classy, street savvy, impossible to keep clean, disappears at night

I did the same thing with electric blue. I'd seen the color on other cars, but never on the cx-7. They had to ship my car from Illinois (about 150 miles away).

At first they tried to talk me into a different color but I held firm and once it arrived everyone was talking about how amazing it looked.

Truthfully - I "settled" for the Copper Red Mica Metallic Whattevertheheckyouwannacallit color.

I had just traded-in my fully-loaded Crysler Town & Country and I had been spoiled with creature comforts and the "idea" of luxury.

I KNOW the CX-7 is a sport X-over... NOT Luxury... but I would-have LOVED a version with interior appointments that included soft leather, wood accents, sand/beige instead of the charcoal black dash and console areas, memory settings, etc. etc. etc.

And for the exterior, I'd have been extatic to see a Champagne Metallic. I absolutely love the combo of the Champaign metallic paint and a light-colored leather interior.

Again - I know, I know... it's not what's at the heart of the CX-7... but a man can dream.

I agree completely with Mikey's assessment of color affecting the look of the CX-7. My theory is that the colors handle light and reflection differently on the beautifully sculpted body panels, each color giving a unique appearance to the XUV. They all look great but my wife ordered Black Cherry Mica, and I'm now glad she did. Love it!

My only wish is that they would offer light brown with some exterior colors instead of black. Black or very dark colors are serously hot here in the Florida sun.

The Copper and Blue were tied for me as far as the best colors in the CX 7, but the hubby felt the Copper was too orangy though I loved that about it! I walk out to my car and can spot it a mile away and she looks beautiful...the blue is electric and it shows off the curves and tail lights beautifully! I love color being a designer/crafty person so the grey was my last choice. Sorry grey lovers..no offense. All a matter of taste. I like a color that shows the lines of the car the best. Cheers!

I'll admit, I'm having a little color regret. However, I went back and looked at the colors the CX-7 offers, and I'm not sure I'd pick any different. Black is my favorite, but I don't have the facilities to properly take care of a black car (ie, I live in an apartment).

I actually think the color selection is pretty crappy. Their too playful for my tastes - like the baby blue and liquid platinum (which I insist is purple-ish). I like classy and rich car colors, not "fun" colors. Yes, I'm a pretty boring person. :) I really wish they had a dark metallic blue or a dark graphite metallic - that'd be sweet.

Personally, I wanted to get a color that suited the car. Red screamed race car, in my book, and it was certainly not that. I would not hesitate for that color on a MazdaSpeed 6, however. I have had a black car (Grand National), and it was hard to keep clean. The MPV was white, so that was out. The Cherry Mica (purplish) was nice, but we had that color on the GTP we just sold. For us, we were looking at the silver, platinum or grey versions and settled on the Galaxy Gray. It's all about presonal tastes, and dare I say, age.

Before I went to the dealership, my original color choice was black and then red. I had a red Montero Sport that I'm trading in so I'm more partial to the black. I'm aware that you'll see dirt more with black but I think it is sexy and stealthy. They didn't have a black with the options that I want so the sales agent had me looking for a different color in the lot with the options that i want. I saw the Copper Red and I lost interest because it wasn't a good shade of red for me. Too bland, not striking. If it was the Velocity Red like the RX8, I won't hesitate.

When I saw the Electric Blue, I am impressed. It is indeed Electric. Especially at night, depending on what angle you look at it, the blue casts a somewhat Iridium color and it is very pleasing. So I picked the blue.

So to each its own. Every color is great with the exception of the Icy/Baby Blue.

Ordered the ice/blue
Test drove the silver for three days (great dealer)
Purchased a White
Traded in the white 6 months latter for the copper red

Still don't know if this is the color, so many choices so little $$$
