I just picked up my E-Bushings.....What now?

I finally got tired of the clunk, so I had the dealer order me a set of bushings. I didn't feel like paying 87 bucks to have them put them on. Is there any advice about installing them before I tear into it? I've read through the threads and searched, but it's a little overwhelming. Can I just put the car on jack stands, and remove the metal part that holds the bushings, and switch them out, or is it more complex than that?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

wait, did you pay for the bushings?

there is a company that makes a complete fix for the problem, wish you would have seen that.

Damn, I already bought them. However, they did give me 2 sets for the price of one, due to a dumbass tech who doesn't know how to use the ordering system. So..........back to the jack stands.....(hi)

I figure I would hold on to them, considering that they will probably need replaced again. It will just save me a trip to the dealership. FIRST THOUGH, I need to figure out how to change them out. Do I just put the rear end on jack stands, remove the 4 bolts holding the bracket on, and switch to the new bushing? Surely someone has some advice seeing how everyone except me seems like they have replaced them.

Thanks

yeah i gotta change mine too...have some kb bushing that I need to install...anybody got a how-to?

You might as well hang on to the extra set for when you need to replace them again. Besides, I think they are only about $25 for the set IIRC.

Question...

I have not been on the forums ever really and just saw your posting about the bushings. I have a MP3 and have a really bad clunk noise when I go over SMALL bumps in the road what is the cause of this? Also my brother bought a 03.5 MSP and he's actually squeek when you get in and out of the back seat.

It sounds like you need the new bushings on your rear swaybar. If the car is still under warranty go get them fixed by the dealer. If it is not under warranty but you just bought it from a dealer, go ask them to fix it anyway.

Also, if you search on 'clunk' you will find lots of reading material.

The squeek, no idea.

Yeah well that's why I'm pissed off! I went to Rich Morton's in Pasadena, MD (I DO NOT RECOMEND) and they told me there was nothing wrong and there was nothing they could do! Well that was 2 years ago and NOW I'm out of warranty....

the squeak is more than likely the bushings too. I have a wicked squeak upon accel and decel or even if lifting the back end of the car with one finger, literally. friggin annoying.
Sounds like a 78 pinto.
