ARGH!!!

I took my lab for hikes into the SoCal mountains last weekend.
After the hike I find 4 ticks on my dog. Then on the drive
home I find another one on my arm. When I got home I
found another one inside my t-shirt and one on my jeans.
Now I just found one in my bed!! So now I'm freaked out
and need to go buy a bunch of bug bombs and grenade
my house and my poor p5.

Atleast my dog has frontline which protects him. Why can't
they have that stuff for people. I might have to sleep in my
bathtub tonight.

When I lived in Minnesota, we would take our huskies out for walks all the time.. tick city. I'm lucky, I've never had one, and *loses interest and walks away.*

i was in the woods night before last looking for my stupid dog, and the next day i find 5 ticks on me. Gross little things.

I used to live in an old barn coverted to a house on 101 acres on the Kinderhook creek in NY. It was a daily ritual to pull ticks off my great dane and do a full body search on my wife and I. At least once a week one of us would have a tick. We tried everything, powders, bombs, 100% pure deet, to stop the ticks but nothing worked. As long as you find it and pull it off in the first 24-48 hrs it is very unlikely you will get anything from them. If you are worried, just put the ticks in a plastic bag in the frezeer. If you start getting a rash or show symptoms similar to a cold shortly after the bite, bring the tick to your doctor who can have it tested for Lyme disease.

Yeah ticks do suck. I had a buddy in high school that was in a coma for 3 months and was expected to die from Smoky Mountain spotted fever

*shudder*

Ticks are spooky....
I never had a tick bite...but twice i was put in the hospital due to spider bites. The first time it was a Brown Recluse (so i was told).
I noticed something odd while i was at work one night. This thin red line started from my ankle, and grew longer and longer every time i looked at it. Then i started getting weak and sick to my stomach. My boss sent me to the emergency room. Upon arrival, i was told that i was having a bad reaction to the bite, and if i had waited much longer, the poison would have reached my heart and could have caused death!!??

Then one year later, i had another spider bite,(nothing as severe) but was hospitalized again.

Those friggen spiders are worse than ticks!! Now everytime i see ANY spider, i turn into a little girl and run away screaming!(shocked)
I cant even stand seeing cobwebs....

my son ended up in the hospital for 3 days due to a spider bite. At least that is what the Dr's and I concluded to after they found the bite mark on his inner thigh and I went home and tore the house up trying to find one. Found a couple black furry little spiders bout the size of a fingernail in the basement called 'jumping spiders' and took them to the Hospital in a bag and showed them what I found. My son had turned into an aligator. His body was covered with hives and they felt hard to the touch. It was the gawd alfulist thing I had ever seen. It started out up his spine, then worked its way out to extremities... It was less than 8 hours he wa in the basement playing xbox with me to the time he was in the hopsital.
I still spot check every time we go play xbox and vacuum and look under furniture..
