I guess this it to be expected. But; I must say; it seems a whole of you MAZDASPEED owners should have gone ahead and spent the extra money, and purchased the cars you 'really' wanted.

More Boost! 10psi isn't enough!! etc...etc...

Hell! I have even had second thoughts about even putting on my MBC. Unless your racing;
:wtf:

Oh well....

And then; all of these silly ass comparisons to cars that cost $4,000 +++ over the MAZDASPEED.

Please! Get over it!

Am I just one of a select few, that actually love this car for what it is? I wonder.

Right there with you. If the STi or the EVO8 are so great, why not use the money that you spend to BUY your Mazdaspeed for a DOWN PAYMENT on one of these cars? It does not make sense. Please people, get over it, if you want a different car, sell the Mazdaspeed and get what ever the hell you want but shut the F**K up about how great other cars are. The Mazdaspeed is the best bang for your buck in the under $25,000 price range, that is why I bought it (and I think only a few others).

I am in full agreement with you!! I use to always look on this board as a guest, but now wthat I am registered I wanted to say this as well. The cars in the MSP catagory suck and the MPS kicks the s*** out of em(besides the SRT 4 which looks gay anyways)

I love my MSP, wouldnt change my mind on this car ever...

I like the way my mazdaspeed feels at 10 and 12psi. You have no idea how much easier passing cars is, or getting around LA traffic with a bit more of a kick.

I like the mazdaspeed for other reasons, but just because I added some more boost doesn't mean that changes.. For $30 I can pickup 20hp, and make my car a little bit more enjoyable.

i know man, wtf...too many ****** whiners in here that should have just bought the "right" car for them. im getting really fed up with this bulls***. if you dont like the mazdaspeed, get the **** out of here. sorry but its just how i feel. there is nothing wrong with modding a car, but come on...this is seriously stupid.

Well I have never whined that I have made the wrong decision. I made the right one for me and my family. The car (have it in black) is a sleeper. Most people see Protege and laugh and I laugh as I blow by them! It is good for the money. It is purteeeeyyyyy! A lot more so than a WRX and in my opinion the Evo! There are a lot of qualities that I like about this car! I am just getting over the fact that I sold my other car to get this one. Yes, yes, that may sound like I have regrets, but not about buying this car, just about getting rid of my other man!
I do find that a lot of people on here complain a lot. When I first joined up all of the complaining on here made me second-guess my purchase and not the car itself. Then I realized that I like what I drive and if a problem occurs then it will be dealt with. I can live and enjoy the moment or regret what may never happen and I choose to have fun in my MSP!

(guns) Whiners

Seriously thuogh, my car is stock as a rock, but when I get my MBC I bet I will be 30x happier!!

And then after that comes the injen..(yippy)

I, for one, couldn't be happier with the car, and I plan on leaving it bone stock. If I ever need any reassurance about my purchase, I just go seek out some twisty roads and marvel at the size of my grin :D

This has all been said before, whoever buys whichever car it's their preference. This will be flying over to OT any day now..lol

Thanks to you all for voicing my feelings! It takes some n-v-t-s to tell people to shut the hell up and grow-up a bit. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but here's mine...

EVO - Pre-riced car for pre-riced buyers
Sti - I just got out of college...dream car=yes
comparable to msp=no
Srt-4 - There's prob a video game around to corner to go with
it "Mopar Madness" - coming to X-station Cubed
Mini - Unless there's a union jack on the roof, you're bound to
be mistaken as a little "light in the loafers"
Focus SVT - If you put your eyes out of focus enough...no it still
looks retarded
Spec-V - Move ok, sounds ok, Looks ok...except for the ass...the
fellas know what I mean
RSX - You think it looks and moves great - so do the thief &
insurance agent (interchangable)
2.5 RS/wrx - Nice...but just a little out of price range once you
add anything.
Any VW - Sure the eng/aftermarket is nice - Still a damn ugly ass
V-Dub...not to mention idiot VW drivers you'd be lumped
with
Audi/BMW/Vette/et al. - Sure these types of cars are nice...but
I'm not nearly
a) pretentious enough
b) rich enough
c) old enough
d) willing enough to sacrifice myself to science

...to drive any of these. Ok...now that I've said my piece (ran out of funny comments): I LOVE MY MAZDASPEED!

I love my MSP. Don't need to add boost, though it may be nice at some time. It would be nice to resolve the stumbling problem though (mine has gotten bad). The clunk, I knew about it before I got the car...Mazda will fix it, or I will fix it at some point. I don't regret buying the car in any way. You should almost expect problems/quirks with a 1st production run vehicle (I know this style protege has been here for a few years, but not the turbo-mazdaspeed), just look at any other 1st run production vehicle. They eventually get the problems/quirks resolved. If I wanted something with gobs more power and didn't necessarily care about the looks or handling, I would have saved up my pennies and bought something else. I read about this car, and heard a few things about it, and I knew I wanted one...soo, I went to the dealership and put a deposite on it, and picked it up 4 months later. And like I said before, no regrets!:D

Right on!

Sup Bra!
I agree wit dat statement 100%.
I love my car and only want a bit more kick out of it.
So...MBC...Homebrew CAI and a cone K&N then Im done.
I will be putting my "Mighty Mighty Joeman" MBC in but only after I get my boost gauge.
AGR put your MBC in. It is at least worth a look-see to find out what the car feels like at 10lbs you allready have a good gauge / timer in.

(2thumbs)

MemphisRacer (Corey) let me drive his MAZDASPEED, and he said the boost was at about 8.5 psi that day, and around 9.5 in the evening.

It felt quite good. Better acceleration for sure.

You sure the laughing gas wasn't on ;)

hmmmmmm; not sure 'turbohover'. It might have been over 9 psi. But yes; it was an improvement.

(wow!! saw the little tiff you and 'Spicy' had up in the Injen Thread!!) like daytime TV...
