Hahaha. Yeah, it's in a fun location. Each time I've changed the oil I've thought to myself "God damn it, who is the asshole that tightened this damn filter this tight. Oh yeah... whoops..."

Where is it that it makes the location soo bad?

Under the intake manifold, and above the suspension cross member. You pretty have to contort in many fun ways to get to it. Most of hte problem is loosening it once you touch it, because you're in such a weird position, you have no leverage.

and then to try and pull it out without dripping oil all down your arm....

I reach up through the "A" arm and unscrew it there.

Then again, I just let the stealership do it now a days... No time and no space.

so the m2 sport should be here next week....i think i'll wait for the meet to have the extra hands needed to get this installed. i've got a new boost and afr guage to install in a new guage pod (once i get with ben), i've got a new down and mid pipe to get done next week, i hope....ipod adapter for the bose...and a more minor "southern" embellishment! by the way, i am a rebel at heart....hampton roads va!

so i broke off a stud on the turbo outlet installing the exhaust...mazda is overnighting me four new studs and nuts tomorrow, so i need to wait another day to enjoy the free flowing exhaust!

That sux. One of the bolts joining the cat to the mid-pipe snapped on me last weekend....so a quick trip to Home Depot was made and the BFH became my new best friend.

oh ya, the suds out...mazda is overnight for from NJ...should be here at 11......now i just have to hope the install goes better than the destruction phase!

Which downpipe did you end up getting? After looking at mine, I found that mine is a custom downpipe. It's actually divorced off the turbo (wastegate and exhaust have seperate tubes) and then joins up before the mid-pipe...

china ebay special...150$ fit was good except for one stud hole, need to take some material of to get the nut on....really changed the tone of the exhaust...a little louder too...robins gonna hate it!...i like it. installed my new boost and afr guage today...getting a sticka tomorrow.
