I finally did it three!

monday!! (headbang)

i guess not...see below

i guess they don't make that many at a time...40, this round, thats all!

so i cancelled the order...first off they may not come in to a lot later, mays the best est. secondly, i can't fin but two sets of tires for it and one i'm not real keen on and the other is like $169 a tire...no way...so the search continues...

Damn....sorry Mark. For some reason I thought 15's were ideal for the MSM in finding multiple tire choices. Good luck with your search!

what do you mean?

Those are the RPF-1's, right? I keep hearing that you can get them with a completely flat face with no wheel lip, or with a lip.

Damn....sorry Mark. For some reason I thought 15's were ideal for the MSM in finding multiple tire choices. Good luck with your search!

Yeah... as long as you're running smaller than 225, there are plenty of choice. Ideal size being 225... yeah, nothing much.

Thanks Phen....so I'm not losing it completely. I didn't realize the limitations on the 225 size though so lesson learnt.

I took a pic of my MSM on jackstands with my Civic's 16's on it. Lemme upload.

It's hard to judge since it's up in the air, but I couldn't lower it down because my lugs fit just enough to not be able to be tightned with a socket. If I was to use those ever, I'd need spline shafts.

i'd love to see that on the ground! so teach me about offset..(braindead..i can get the wheel i want 16"x7" in 33, 35, 40 and i can get an16"x8" but only in 38mm offset??

In general terms, offset is how far a wheel is pushed out from the hub, thus the lower the number the further the wheel moves to the corners. Go to far and you may rub. Also factor in wheel width and tire size.

That's what my deal was with those other wheels I had on my RX-8. Just too wide a tire and low offset.

Its actually how far the HUB is pushed from the rims centerline...

Google FTW:

Offset is the distance from a wheels hub mounting surface to the center line of the wheel. There are three types of offset:

tech-offset-image.jpg

Zero: The hub mounting surface is even with the center line of the rim.
Positive: The hub mounting surface is more towards the front and generally the style wheel used with FWD vehicles.
Negative: The hub mounting surface is toward the back side of the wheel’s center line.

so a 16x8 with a 38mm offset (oem is 40 on a 17x7 rim) with the cah lowered 1.3 inches should work fine

IIRC, you can go up to +32 on an 8" wheel before you get into issues.

should be fine... it will stick out about 15mm more than stock... a fender roll MIGHT be in order depending on the clearance you have now

Here is what I got:

17x7 +40 with 205/40R17 (Stock I'm assuming?)

16x8 +38 with 215/45R16

When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 60.4mph (97.2km/h): 0.7% faster.

Package is 3 mm (0.1'') closer to suspension/brakes components. Acceptable for most cars.
Package will stick out 7 mm (0.3'') farther. Acceptable for most cars.
Will fill out the wheelwell by extra 2 mm. Almost no difference.

I hope that helps Mark.

hmm 7mm? my math must be off....

1 inch wider rim... = 1/2 inch each way... 1/2 inch = 12.7mm... plus hes adding 2mm with the change in offset soo... 14.7mm...

oh well

either way, you should be good

it's always something...enkei shows the wheel rpf1 II 16x8 in black...can't find it anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!
