I feel sooo bad..

I feel just terrible! This morning on my way to work it's dark out, I'm headed toward the freeway. In the middle of the street there's a cat just sitting there. Doing nothing. I try to hit the brakes and swerve, but to no avail. I end up hitting the cat with my front right wheel and then my right rear wheel hits it as well. I know the poor kitty did not survive. I feel terrible about this. Now every time I drive by this spot I will probably be reminded of that poor cat. Some of you might not think it's that big a deal, but I do.

Poor kitty.:'(

Yeah I know how you feel...I used to not care as much about cats until I owned one. If you get the right cat, they are awesome pets.

That sucks dude. I'll even swerve to avoid a mouse or toad. I guess that's just the way I am. Of course, I have no problem taking out the fool winger that stays in the corner with the puck when I'm playing hockey....

I bet your next mod will be Power Stop rotors!

i haven't hit anything yet... knock on wood... but over the summer, i heard an engine revving, a loud thud, then yelping. i ran outside to see a beautiful pit bull puppy on the street bleeding from the mouth. her owner ran over and was crying. the car sped away. someone got the liscence plate # and called in the hit and run. hope that asshole got what he deserved. the sounds that accompany something like that are really gut wrenching.

Sadly they freeze like a dear in head lights. Your best bet is to sound your horn... Sorry about that buddy... :(

Luckily have not hit a single living animal. Though my roomate did hit a bird in the ass with his windshield. :(

I feel bad actually for not putting a goose out of its misry. Poor thing got hit and broke its wing and legs, but was still living. Lying there in the road, head straight up just making lots of noise. There was another goose standing by him that kept poking at him. Meanwhile 6 of other geese were on the other side of the road trying to get to him.
Kinda of sad looking, but I didn't think it would help to break its neck in front of rush hour traffic.
Knowing my luck some mom with kids would be driving by right as I did it.

"Mommy what is that guy doing to the goose"......
:(

I remember driving up north in Michigan, ocassionally we could come across a whole flock of wild turkeys in the road. They wouldn't move for anything. You could:

1) Drive through them at full speed, killing several of them and messing up your front end.

or

2) Stop, and sit there and wait until they left. They would usually surround the car and look really pissed.. sometimes they would peck at the tires and whatnot.

Hehe.

I feel your pain. That same thing happened to me when I had my P5. I ran over a small cat with the right side tires. I even heard the crunch sound. I pulled over to see the cat and the poor thing was crawling over to the side of the road. I had crushed his/her whole back. Oh well nothing I could have done. I got home and I even had a tear.

I have never hit anything, but I've had near misses. Once it was a squirrel, I swear I had hit it but he was nowhere to be found after? The second was a couple of weeks ago, almost hit a big racoon that was crossing the road at like 3am. I swore I had hit it because it was so close but I must've missed the thing by 1".

The worse is when animals are fatally hit but they're still alive. It crunched my heart to see this possum laying in the middle of a busy intersection, badly hurt, but just wailing. I can still see the face of it with it's mouth open:(

It's hard to figure out what you should do in that situation. An ex girlfriend used to make me stop and remove roadkill from the road, and throw it into the woods or something. We found a hit Racoon that was still breathing and was obviously on it's last minutes, I moved him off the road and left it in the woods. It stopped breathing in my hands.:(

My friend hit a goose once...when he wasn't paying attention...it landed right in front of him and he hit it straight on going 30mph.

...its not funny...but it is...

...feathers when flying everywhere like in the cartoons.

man it so sad..

as i read all those events of you guys almost hitting or did hit animals it makes me feel like you guys killed a human being. not that you did it just feels that way.

Roomate brother hit a flock of seagulls once...was kinda funny as the whole front was just coated with feathers. :)
