I'm sorry but you're an idiot if you stop during one of those runs even at the top. It draws way too much attention...There's usually cops waiting at bottom eyeing you as you go up anyways...we run small, light and fast...hit it hard and get the **** out...We'll usually run from the LA side over the mountain and exit the other side to make it less obvious...you can chill or take pictures somewhere else...really sorry but that's just stupid and you all deserve to get your hoods popped at that point...
Dude, it's not some Fast & Furious 100MPH blast through high speed canyon roads or anything. You must be thinking of a different road than I am. You have to drive 20 minutes up the mountain to the parking spot before you even get to the road that people actually run. People go up one by one and meet up there, and that's how they've been doing it almost every night for the past 20 years or more. Hanging out with the guys at the top is as much of why people go to this road as the run itself. I've been there almost a thousand times (not an exaggeration, I went three or four nights a week for around five years), and only on three or four occasions did we have any issues with law enforcement. Even when they did come up, it didn't matter to me because I've always kept my cars street-legal.
Also, if you don't stop at the top on this road, you're creating a safety hazard yourself, because people coordinate runs and make sure that nobody goes down when there's already a group out on the road.
Anyway, this thread really isn't the place for this discussion.
