Hypertech Max Energy Sport CAI Update Now Available!

anm6- What mods do you have? Are you running an aftermarket bpv/bov? the afr's sound about right, these cars run pig rich stock.

Mods are in my SIG. TXS catless DP, Forge BPV( Yellow 2 shims) and Cobb SRI, NO TIP yet still looking for one :(. Isnt 11.3 on the leaner side, I'm think when I reinstall the Hypertech it will be in the mid 10's isnt that too lean?

11.3 is healthily rich for this car. Its on the leaner of the rich side of things but its still good. Anything over 12 is when you have to start really wondering if its too lean.

Either you swapped the numbers or there is a misunderstanding. The higher the number, the leaner the ratio. It is one part fuel to whatever of air, so 11.x is leaner than 10.x because there is more air to gas.

Perfect thanx man, Yea I got the numbers backwards, I will be installing the Hypertech tomorrow. Plugs will be here and going to be nice out 60's and sun. :)

I'm loving this power.(wiggle)[/QUOT
?
Was the gain significant or is it more of a smoother transition of power, what are your afr's at?
It is definitely power that you can feel. 1st & 2nd gear are uninhibited. 1st pulls so hard, that you have to shift within seconds(if you floor it). 2nd is not as frenetic as first, but it is very strong. In the other gears, it pulls hard up to and beyond redline. At 6300 rpms, the power is still rising. I only added 200 rpm to the rev limiter. I am seeing about 2 psi of extra boost up top. The car pulls strong from 3000- 6500 rpm. It is insane at times.I have not measured afr's as of yet, but I would say the numbers would be in the acceptable range. Between the HyperTech flash and the CP-E RMM, the power really gets to the ground. I would strongly recommend installing an RMM , if you pick up this flash.

+1000 for the above, 1st is insane, and second gear you have to fight the wheel a bit to keep it strait.. Plus I'm seeing 20 PSI all the way to 6200k or so. I made some runs yesterday and got caught looking at the boost instead of the RPMS and was over 6k before I shifted( Almost 6500 OPPPSSS)..!!! Car pulls CRAZY hard reminds me ove my 11 sec EVO.. Not saying its that fast but pulls very hard..

OK getting the the A/F readings. .A few post above we where talking about which way the numbers read for lean and rich. I did some pulls a watch the A/F's- The all where right around 10.8-10.5 which I think is perfect. I check some other sites for dyno sheets and everyone is right around the same. I have a digtal wideaband(AEM) not EGT gauge, Which I no the high the temp the leaner the mixture and the lower the number the richer the car is running.. All in all tha car pulls like it's PO'D all the time.. LOL.

I get the Hypertech if you do not plan on going BT. The flash is perfect IMO close to 300WHP + a DP is very possiable. When I do mine I let you all know.

Steering wheel boost cut?

Hey Chris,
Does the programmer disable the boost cut you get when the wheels are turned? And if so, is that seperate setting from the 1st/2nd gear boost cut?

I can see an advantage to having the controlled acceleration, but more power out of the corners.

I find it annoying to hit the gas out of the corner and then wait for the power until the steering wheel hits a certain angle.

Can you do us a little favor? Buy or borrow a cheap stopwatch, find a level stretch of highway and do a few WOT runs from 60-100 mph and tell us what numbers you are getting and what ambient temp was when making the runs.

That will tell me a huge amount more than "pulls" this way or that way. Objective data on actual acceleration is what I'm looking for. If you can't track the car, then please tell us what the stopwatch is saying. That's very effective and highly repeatable way to tell is your mods are actually making a difference.

And with all respect to the dyno's use in tuning, absolute numbers don't tell me diddley squat, because there is too much variation from brand to brand, machine to machine and operator to operator.

But time, speed and distance are always exact. Assuming your speedo is accurate and a $30 stopwatch can be accurate to at least a tenth of a second, you can get some very, very, reliable data that way. Nothing to post up for bragging rights, but very useful for tuning.

And while the increase in power in first and second gear might be a big benefit for autocross where speeds are much lower and time can be improved by not having to shift as frequently, for me, it just would mean even less traction because I'm already smoking the tires with WOT in first, all the way through second and part of third while trying the feather the engine and chirping them in fourth with stock tune and my mods.

Stopwatch or track numbers, please? Thanks.

OK you have to be kidding me right. I'm tying my best to give helpful info, But to go out and buy a stop watch, Hit the highway at like 10-11pm to make some 60-100 runs an time it is a bit much no?? I'm not a test car for Hypertech, Yes I did buy it, Yes I am helping others with desicion on the flash, but that's my limit. If you want that much info then buy it and do it yourself, An not trying to be rude.. Thanx
