if its bent? HELL YES...other wise its going to end up causing wheel bearing failure...and tire failure (premature wear)....

it will make your steering shake when at highway speeds if its bent bad enough...and make your wheel WOBBLE all the time.

hey, what do you know. i am in the same boat. i need a hub too. as well as rim, rotor, spindle. did the same thing, slid into a curb but no ice. btw, does anybody know if my car will still handle like a protege after those things are replaced or will it be worse? (assuming no other damage of course).

btw, the dealer told me that hubs are on national backorder, anybody know if its true?

if you have all the damaged parts replaced and its done correctly....your Protege will handle like new.

Hmmm well i dont think it is really bent bad.... cause im steering like normal ...... the only thing that bothers me is this weird winding noise when i drive...

does anyone know if we use the same hub as the normal protege or not?.. So if i were to go into a junkyard and find one... is it direct replacement?

I think I have the same problem. A faint drone/hum. Hitting the curb wasn't enough to bend the rim and I'm pretty shure that it isn't out of balance, but the steering wheel does vibrate strangely at high speeds. The noise gets more noticeable when turning sharply at high speeds. Like when lane changing lanes on the freeway. What do you think?
